Airport bombing in Glasgow

Just turned on CNN. Apparently some people drove a jeep into the airport in Glasgow and detonated a bomb or something.

It's actually really weird that you said that, because I said pretty much the exact same thing to someone I wrote an e-mail to last night:

I fully expect to hear about threats to the US and that sort of thing, but there have been two kind of big incidents in the UK in the last couple of days. First two cars were found at separate locations in London, both filled with gas cans and nails. The next day, three people drove a car into a section of the airport in Glasgow and set themselves on fire. My friend Jessica just attended a concert in Glasgow, so that's kind of worrying. I'm not particularly thrilled when some ridiculous fanatics bring their third-world shenanigans to the civilized world. Fuck, is this really the only earth we can live on?

I guess what really baffles me most is that this is something I would expect to have happen here. I'm glad that it didn't, but I don't understand the intended target. I thought England and the rest of the UK had pretty much stopped supporting us in Iraq. Last I read, everyone else was decreasing troops there.

Last week was the first time in over a month I haven't been flying in and out of Glasgow Airport. It's not a big place either, that car bomb could've got a lot of people.

I believe the attack was just some dudes that drove a flaming SUV into a terminal then got out and poured gas on the fire. There wasn't a bomb, but police blew something up at a diff location or something.

Yeah they were commenting that the people that pulled this off were basically idiots in as far as explosives went. They had all the shit they needed, they just didnt know how to make it all work.

The car was packed with gas canisters, and the guys got set on fire when they crashed. An off duty police man hosed one down with a fire extinguisher and people were shouting let him burn. Ambulance came to keep him alive as he was suffering from really bad injuries, and when they got him to hospital, they found out he had a bomb strapped to him lol

But yeah, whoever tried to pull this off either, 1. Didn't think about it before doing it and 2. They crashed into a ROAD FUCKING SIGN before hitting the door, therefore, not even damaging much beyond the actual front door. Bombs never went off nor did the explosion cause much damage, think they were the only two idiots injured.

All in all, this is probably one of the biggest embarrasents to these terrorists. Pretty much epic fail to say the least.

I think the worst part of this is the non-stop coverage on CNN. They keep replaying the same footage and talking to locals who seem to have gotten over the failed attempts. Is CNN actually considered news anymore?
