    Sigil Effects

So, I went to look up the effects of Sigil in ffxiclopedia.com, and found that alot of the results are either inexact or incorrect. Here are the listed effects straight from the article:
The effects of Sigil is limited to Crystal War areas.
Sigil initially lasts 3 hours 15 minutes, and lasts an additional 15 minutes for each additional level of medal you own.
Players can only have one of the following effects at a time: Sigil, Sanction, Signet.
When getting Sigil you can choose one or more of the following effects for 50 Allied Notes each.
Regen (up to 60% of HP)
Refresh (up to 65% of MP)
    Increased meal duration
The following effects are always granted:
You will receive an Experience Points bonus when in a party of less than 6 people, similar to Signet.
You will not lose TP while resting.
Your base HP recovered per tick, and the growth rate of HP recovered while healing is increased
-The first atribute is obvious. The second is easy to test, and I will recheck it just in case. The third affect is also obvious.
-However, the fourth effect (Regen) gave me some discrepencies. On RDM/DRK my regen stopped at 856/1141, 75% of my HP. The wiki lists 60%. I seriously doubt someone completely miscounted 15% of HP a month ago, so there may be some sort of outside figure.
-My Refresh effect, on the other hand, came out at 462/710, 65%, exactly like the wiki, so somehow only the regen was affected. Perhaps other could test their regen/refresh effects in other nations/servers to see if there are any national differences.
-Meal duration would also be good and easy to test. Has anyone experimented with this at all?Can we presume it is double the duration like the Sanction effect?
-Even though there aren't many xp spots in the expansion, more may open up in the future, especially for small man parties. It would be great if we could nail down the exact experience points bonus. There was little information in the other, dead forum I saw on this topic. I will research this soon, but feel free to do so as well.
    -The TP thing is duh.
-I did some research into the HP resting part, and compared it to the signet bonus. These are my numbers with RDM/DRK 75 1141 HP:
With Sigil active in the past:
    887+31=918+35=953+39=992
So starting hHP 31 with an increase of +4.
With Sigil active in the present (hence no effect):
    992+10=1002+11=1013+12=1025
So starting hHP 10 with an increase of +1.
With Signet active in the present:
    642+31=673+35=708+39=747
Again, starting hHP 31 with an increase of +4.
With Signet active in the past (because I like symmetry):
    747+10=757+11=768+12=780
Again, starting hHP 10 with an increase of +1.
Test states that the HP while resting effect is the same as Signet's.

A few other questions I want to bring up:
If Sigil carries the hHP, TP while resting, and bonus XP traits that Signet has, does it also have the increased defense and evasion trait?
Sigil gives AN for killing monsters, right? What is the formula for that? Would it be like Sanction's, or more like Signet's?
Does it give the experience points effect that Sanction gives?

So yeah, that is my research and stuff.

    Re: Sigil Effects

Your Refresh and Regen *should* come to the same amount of HP/MP percent. When I tested this using 3 different accounts at different medal levels, I received the effect up to 50% base + 5% for each medal obtained (so the first medal would give me 55%, for example).

    - Yes, you get increased defense and evasion it would appear; but I can't say for sure (hence "appear").

    - No, Sigil does not give AN for killing monsters. Sorry.

    - No, Sigil and Sanction have no similarities beyond the effects you can choose when getting Sigil, the rest is Signet.

    Re: Sigil Effects

EXP bonus seems to be really really close to the same figures as signet. I was getting ~10exp less when sigil wore compared to my friend (2 man party only).

Yeah, that would make perfect sense, because I am Star Rank 2, so that's 5 upgrades of 5% each. I don't understand why my Refresh is lower; perhaps it starts at 40% and goes up from there?

    Re: Sigil Effects

I mentioned this in another thread at the time I was at ribbon #4, but refresh % started at 50 at ribbon 1, and went up by 5 to 65% at ribbon 4. However the first 2 stars it didn't go up, and I haven't thought to check for stars 3 or 4. Maybe different aspects of sigil bonus increase with different types of medals?

Um...do you mean it went up by 5 to 55%?

By the way, Sanction Refresh caps at 10% lower than Sanction Regen, so it would make sense for the Sigil effects to do so as well. The only problem is that the ranks don't really make sense ATM. There are like 20 ranks, but only room for (if they cap the same as Sanction) 9 HP upgrades and 7 MP upgrades. I've already seen 5/9 and 3/7 respectively at Sterling Star 2. I guess it could just cap really early in the medal line, but we won't really know until people with those medals test it.

    Re: Sigil Effects

Sorry for not being clear. Refresh worked like this:

Bronze Ribbon of Service §: 50%
Brass Ribbon of Service §§: Didn't check
Allied Ribbon of Bravery §§§: 60%
Allied Ribbon of Glory §§§§: 65%
    Bronze Star §: 65%
    Sterling Star §§: 65%
    Mythril Star §§§: Didn't check
Golden Star §§§§: Haven't checked, can check later

    Re: Sigil Effects

I was fairly soloing alot on my dnc at lvl 13-15 in the past areas on DC-EM worms. Sigil didnt grant me an evasion or defense bonus, because the worms hit way harder and more accurate then in the old present ares.

That is not exactly a conclusive test, especially if you are comparing it to present worms of the same area (lol).
I don't have a lot of accuracy gear, so I honestly can't go and test this. Anyone who normally does this stuff able to check it for sure?

Ah, did you happen to check Regen effect at all? I get my Star 3 today, so I can check it with that, but I don't have any lower medal results. Also, my guess is that we won't see a Refresh effect increase until the next medal type. One per medal type would add up to 80%, plus maybe another 5% from the last medal. Would make sense, but we'll see.

    Re: Sigil Effects

You definitely notice the way mobs instantly get dangerous when Sigil wears (or when you didn't have it the first time in the zones) and yet they're pansies with it.

Most mobs are buffer in the new zones than the old zones.

Were you wearing some forms of Convert HP >> MP gear (Zenith, Serket, Astral, etc)? These figure max HP as before the conversion, hence is so handy to use for Sorc/Minstrel Ring proc to avoid yellow HP.

Put the info about 5% per medal on our wiki for now though, with a verify tag.

No, I wasn't wearing any HP>>>MP gear at the time, and my numbers worked out to exactly 75%. I will check tonight/tomorrow when I get Star 3 to see if it continues.

The sigil NPC mentions you get additional benefits for having strong freelancers in your army, but doesn't mention what any of those benefits are.

That is interesting...does any have any important freelances in their army that could check this out?

I believe that one of the other threads indicated that the bonus for having freelancers is reduced xp loss upon death. I don't have the link handy to it, but I'm sure I read that in one of the other threads here on BG.

Who wants to test this one?

    Re: Sigil Effects

Having recently taken 3 jobs to 20 in the past it sure feels like there is the def/evasion attribue on sigil. A few times when sigil wore I was lazy and just kept fighting and it even though it was the same level mob that I had previously been fighting for the last hour or so, the fights seemed more challenging as far as mobs accuracy and damage values. Though this could of been random unluckiness; either way I would shortly afterwards go get a new one.

Sorry, I didn't. I did just go check Refresh/Regen at Golden Star §§§§, though, and Refresh is still 65%, Regen is 75%. I rank up in about one day + 3 hours if I'm awake then, so can see then if they resume upgrading at the next tier of medals.

    Re: Sigil Effects

Ranked up to Copper Emblem of Service § about 15 minutes ago. Got sigil afterward just in case nothing changes until the next time you get it after your evaluation. Regen still stops at 75%, Refresh at 65%. After Regen stopped I tried out a few other things. Adding Cassie Earring after it had stopped rising didn't reactivate it, nor did the 38 HP from high breath mantle charge. Eating a taco however, did cause it to rise.
