PS2 Max Memory Cards
Sorry I made it's own topic but I didn't know where else to ask. Does anyone have any of these? I recently lost all of my data on my old official blue memory card. Lucky for me I had uploaded it to my friends PS3 a while back so I was saved. Not trusting my old memory card anymore I bought this one:

Can anyone vouch on these being reliable? So far I played God of War 2 and saved my data, it took almost 2 minutes for it to make the file and then save. I am not having any problems now though saving that is.

Re: PS2 Max Memory Cards
we keep them hidden at my store and dont even acknowledge their existance because they always came back defective or not working so we stopped selling them.

Re: PS2 Max Memory Cards
They're sposed to be pretty good, I've never seen one returned at Gamestop, been working there almost a year now /shrug
It takes forever to save cuz it has to format it I suppose (it says on the box what all it does, I believe)... and I believe it has to do that every time you use it, made me wonder when I read it how it works if it 'reformats' every time you use it, /shrug. And by use I mean PS2 on/off... I donno.
TL;DR- Haven't seen any not work.
Edit: Reply above mine when I was typing... shrug. I've worked at three stores and seen no returns, but I doubt he's lying to you, lol. Shrug.

Did Sony stop selling the original memory cards?

Re: PS2 Max Memory Cards
No I just wanted a huge memory card since I only had about 100kb's of space left on mine.
I almost gave myself a scare, I hit reset while it was taking forever to save. It still has all of the data though and just marked the GoW 2 data as corrupted.

Re: PS2 Max Memory Cards
Third party memory cards generally worked well for a few weeks and then corrupted everything. I wouldn't recommend it.

Re: PS2 Max Memory Cards
I love all this space, I mostly did it because I am going to upload a full playthrough of Persona 3 FES on hard mode, SMT Nocturne, and Tales of the Abyss on Very Hard after MGS4. I had been meaning to do this but up until now the only thing that held me back was getting a good capturing device and a big memory cards.

You think this is the real Dmitry?
Re: PS2 Max Memory Cards
Those won't work with the adapter that allows you to upload your data to a PS3. My ASM had one of those and said it wouldn't detect it. As long as you keep your Sony one around it shouldn't be a problem cuz you can just painfully move the data around 8MB at a time.
