Everytime I open up a program, it ask me "Allow, or not allow" Buttons, for everything. even windower! How do i get rid of this?

Control panel -> user accounts -> Disable UAC

Although it probably gets really annoying, some recent article stated that it stopped every single virus/rootkit that the people reviewing it could get a hold of.

With that said though, I don't use it. :D

If there is some programs you run consistantly you can do the following to each of them;

right-click
check the 'Run as Administrator' box
apply/ok

Basically that will limit the allow/disallow the UAC from appearing on most programs however it is a 'known issue' for POL on Vista that you can't get around it. Honestly it's semi annoying but it stops everything thats not allowed, even say keyloggers trying to gain access to the internet. It will prompt the allow/disallow and shut your internet down before anything happens.

Iirc, I forget the confrence name but I remember the Vista Box lasted till 1hr before the deadline and the linux box was untouched the entire test. Damn the details escape me but someone should be able to quote it...

Anyway, long story short most non-FF applications youcan run as administrator and they won't warn you everytime you open them. I don't think disabling the UAC is a good solution as you give away a large part of the security it brings.

And setting proper user privileges would have led to the same (and less annoying) results. You could do that since NT 3.

The hard thing with doing that is so many Windows apps expect Admin access, or at least, access to things that only would normally be accessible by that.

UAC just goes well past the mark IMO, into the annoying/disruptive. Then you turn it off and the system bugs you about that too...
