Is there an easy way to determine if an LCD (both TV and monitor) is glossy or non-glossy (matte) online?
When I bought my HDTV, I did tons of research before landing a Sony KDL-46XBR4 as the best matte LCD for me at the time. After calibrating it and showing it to friends I find myself getting lots of (questions)/(advice requests) about current LCDs.
However, I'm finding it to be a royal pain determining if the LCDs I'm researching are glossy or not. So far, it seems I need to read tons of reviews, many of which don't list the display finish (glossy/matte) let alone the panel type (S-IPS, etc). This usually means I need to take a trip to a brick-and-mortar store like Best Buy.
Is there a website that lists display finishes for most/all LCDs, or a better way than checking stores in-person and taking personal notes anytime a new model comes out?
ps. Apparently Samsung A650 and higher models only use glossy screens...
