Yes, I realize it's very base and easy and repetative but I love the warriors games, and being a sucker and throwing money at koei i just had to buy #2

Was wondering if anyone else had gotten it and what you think of the new characters? I'm glad they found a semi-creative way to reintroduce fu xi/nu wa again, liked both of them and having them be reskinned and given some different backstory is pretty cool I thought.

Haven't unlocked all of the new chars though, but the monkey guy looks like he'll be fun to try out, if not just interesting.

I haven't played 2, but if it's anything like the other recent Dynasty Warriors and 1, shit is not easy. Stop playing on Easy mode.

always on hard, even though they removed my parry/counter the games aren't particularly difficult

edit: also haven't played DW6, but WO1 was really not at all difficult, especially if you were any good at finding a decent juggling team that could swap fast and just continue to juggle with fire element up.

Oh man I forgot how broken the fire damage was in one. Was good shit to see a general you could barely scratch drain ridiculously fast. Damn now I wanna buy 2. Did they change anything or is it just the usual rehash?

They actually added around 10~ish orochi-only characters, and actually attempted to throw some sort of viable storyline into the mix rather than just having everyone meet up and go "oh noes, badguy out of the blue we should kill, random alliances go!" type deal.

movesets are still pretty much the same, although i don't recognize a few SW characters this time around (never really played that series), so i'm not sure if they're pulling these characters out of their asses or if they're grabbing them from SW2...new weapon customization system as well as a couple new modes, different ways of going about story modes too (can't just pick up your level 99 character that you got in another story mode and use it in a new one), haven't really gone too far in depth with it yet though

Warriors Orochi is Dynasty Warriors + Samurai Warrior. Has characters from both series (first one was them brought through a portal by the demon king because he wanted to test his might on the greatest fighters of China and Japan). Basically stupid as shit plot, but hey, it's fun.

Just tried out VS. mode, it's something of a throwback to the original DW in that it's basically a 2.5D soul-caliburish fighter, it's oddly fun.

edit: it's survival mode (which i usually don't do more than once cause i get bored) but this time it's fucking awesome, makes all kinds of difference between whether characters are str/speed etc, especially if chars don't flinch when hit..that's a real noticeable trait

Do you still use 3 people in VS. mode or is it just one character?

it's 3, same general rules apply, except all characters are at their base stats with the same level weapons and have full proficiency for the fights, can also ring out...but one character dead = loss
