DVI Cables, need information on them.

Hi, I currently have an issue where I need to hook my PC up to a TV we have in this house and was wondering whats the longest DVI cable I can buy without losing signal or quality?

Also would I need a signal repeater in case for more than 10 feet?

Only info I can really find is this.

    Thanks.

Just buy a DVI to HDMI converter, problem solved... DVI is being phased out, either HDMI or VGA is the way to go.

Also, this is almost a must-purchase if you have your computer hooked up to your TV:

The television I'm hooking this up to only accepts DVI-D/Component/S-Video/Co-ax/RCA Composite.

So I'm kinda limited to DVI-D only in this situation.

What resolution do you plan on viewing at? If you're aiming for 1080p, you'll need a repeater every 15', if you just want 720p or (possibly) 1080i, you can stretch that to ~45'.

720p/1080i is fine. If 1080p is available then thats also alright.

HDMI signals get dodgy as you get close to 50' depending on cable quality, lower than 25' you really should have no worries
