Offsite Backup Solutions over the Net

I was just curious if any of you currently use or have used any of the over the Internet personally backup solutions.

My current job has me dealing with corporate backup and disaster recovery solutions on a daily basis. With all of the costs involved with bandwidth and storage, I didn't expect personal solutions to be affordable, but I heard a blurb on the radio the other day for Carbonite that actually sounded like it was reasonably priced.

After doing a bit of research it seems that a lot of people have had horrible experiences getting data restored with Carbonite. Most of the positive comments I've read have been about Mozy or the service that hooks into Amazon somehow (haven't researched that one too much).

I haven't been doing a very good job of backing up my home personal data. I know I'm just trying my luck by never having a hard drive die but I know I'd hate to lose my data. I still haven't upgraded my laptop to XP sp3 because I worry that it'll hose the computer and make me lose things. So I figured I need to look into something more convenient than burning dvds once a year. I know a lot of people are fans of backing up to a usb drive, but that doesn't really help you if your home catches on fire, gets hit by a meteorite, etc.

I was just curious if any of you have tried any of these Online backup products and if you have any recommendations.

I've used DELL's online backup since it came free for a few years with a purchase awhile back. It's not too amazing but it's kind of nice to do every month or so if you feel the need to backup important docs. I use the online backup to store a second copy of all my course work at OSU, in case my external storage shits out on itself. I wouldn't say it's worth buying mass amounts of online storage, but if you can snag a cheap subscription service it would be nice for backing up important info.

I've currently got a Dell DataSafe 10GB backup thats used by multiple people too, but before that I was the only user. It's like $29/year for the 10gb Dell DataSafe but in my case it's split up as far as cost goes, so it's not bad. After I graduate I can't say I would continue to use it though, as I use a large amount of external storage and I almost always have my laptop on me.
