that looks so awesome, looks like it'd be worth buying one of those writing tablet things for
God I remember playing this when it was like 10 levels long. Fun game but there's alot of totally uninteresting levels to sit through where you can't really do anything amusing other than the vanilla solution. Though I only got halfway through Island 2 before I quit out, so I'm sure it'll get alot better and harder.
The rocket levels (Island 5 or 6 iirc) are just fucking nuts. Pure fucking luck just to get the rockets going the way you want to. (especially the Brontosaur level...)
When the regular version came out initially, I really enjoyed it because I had to actually think a little bit in order to solve the puzzles. I played the demo of the deluxe version, and the difficulty is like night and day. At no point in the demo did I have to think once. It was basically just mindless drawing since you can draw complex shapes around platforms and have them just hang there able to hold up infinite amounts of weight. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it well but that is why I wasn't too happy with deluxe. It's just way too easy.
Got this awhile ago forgot to check if there was a thread about it, I really loved the game overall. The later islands and the pin/rope etc mechanics are a lot of fun and make the game shine. It reminds me of World of Goo where there are multiple ways to solve a puzzle and the replay value is huge in that regard.
Am I the only one who tried to solve every puzzle drawing penises?
I torrented this after seeing the trailer stuff for it and I got to level 6 in one sitting and then raged at how incredibly fucking difficult it suddenly became. I realize they try to teach you how to do what you will need to do for the island at the beginning of the island but they stopped doing that kind of thing for me so I just ended up giving up. I'll try again later.
BTW Brotosaurus level is nothing compared to the later dinosaur level that uses pins and ropes.
This seems very cool, mostly because of the crayon layout. But there are enough flashes out along the same concept that I don't think it would warrant a full payment of the game.
It's a really fun game. It sort of reminds me of Armadillo Run, but it really feels more about creativity because it lets you do essentially whatever you want rather than work within the constraints of a budget.
I just used rocket bags for a lot of the rocket island levels. They always gave really fun results in Armadillo Run and they didn't disappoint in this game.
