Hey guys, welcome to bullshit life problem thread from poster #487!
On today's platter, we're offering a silly ol' scenario that needs a hint of perspective and advice.
Synopsis: I'm a community college student with a part-time job tutoring middle school kids. I have a 3.5+ GPA and work 6hrs or so a week (not a lot of work, but it plays $20.00 an hour). I'm approaching my 4th year at community college (a switch in major mid-way through my 2nd year prolonged the visit), and I planned on staying to save money. This 4th year would be my last year, and I'll be transferring to a University of CA Fall of '10.
Amongst all this, my dad is constantly hassling me about getting another job for "experience". I've worked in 2 department stores and had an inventory job; I've learned how to interact with people and do my job well, that's really all the experience I can get pre-career atmosphere. He calls me every day asking what I've done for a job, even though I've got a big plate of school work and a part-time job already. Sure, it wouldn't kill me to get a 2nd job, but there's really no reason for me to get one. He constantly compares me to my two sisters and brother, saying how they've "done there part", and how I haven't grown up at all (not moving out, on my own). No shit? I'm being logical and saving money at a community college.
Anyway, my question is: Am I at fault telling him to back-off and let me handle these issues myself? Or would you agree his argument is just, saying I need to get a 2nd job?
