    Question about +TP Bonus

I'm currently wielding a Joy Toy with 5 TP return. If I equip my Rajas Ring for +5 TP Bonus, I will receive 6 TP return. With my chiv chain I have a total of +6 TP bonus.

My question is, if I receive the +5 TP bonus from ACP augment for a total of +11 TP gain, what will be my tp return per hit? Will I obtain 7 TP return per hit?

    Store TP*

STP/100 basically, so 20 Store TP gives +2 TP per hit, as I recall.

Never was totally sure on that though, keep getting weird answers.

x Store TP multiplies your TP gained per hit by 1.0x

    Basically for the explanation:

Find out how much TP you'd gain normally with no Store TP. Let's say 10 for example with no Store TP.

Now multiply that number by 1.x, where x = how much Store TP you have. Let's say you have 20 Store TP:

    - 10 (Base TP gain) x 1.20 (Total Store TP) = 12 TP Return

So in your case (Corrected a few mistakes. Joyeuse gives 6TP normally, ACP gives 4 Store TP so you'd actually have +10 Store TP):

    - 6 x 1.1 = 6.6 TP Return

And that's it! Oh, but remember TP Return can only ever have 1 decimal point.

AKA 6.999 would be rounded down to 6.9, not 7.

5.64353 would be rounded down to 5.6.

Hopefully that was comprehensible! Hope it helps.

    *learned something then*

All I ever knew about Stp was Sams need +11 with full merits, and War/Sam needs +7.

I think people get confused by Store TP because TP itself is already displayed as a percentage, and Store TP is therefore a percentage of a percentage. So when people say stuff like "1 store tp = 1% more tp/hit", people go "oh so I'll get 6% tp instead of 5%" and my brain melts. If you think of TP as an absolute number (WS @100 tp, not @100% TP, for example), then it's just 1 Store TP = 1% more TP per hit.

So if your weapon gives a base of 10 tp/hit, each point of store TP adds .1 tp/hit. If you put on a rajas at 10 tp/hit base, you'd get 10.5 per hit, and your tp build would look like:

    10(.5, doesn't show) => 21 => 31(.5, doesn't show) => 42 => 52(.5, doesn't show) => 63 etc.
    instead of
    10 => 20 => 30 => 40 => 50 => 60

If only Store TP+1 meant 1 more TP per hit.

"Ok so if I use Rajas and with /SAM on my Byakko's Axe, that's a 3 hit right?"

Think I've done this right. Attached is a simple TP calculator I made whilst levelling my SAM, if it helps.

what i understand from store tp is that is:

if i get 10 tp per hit, i need 10 hit to get 100%
if i get store tp + 10 with above setup, i will need only 9 hit to reach 100%

store tp = bonus TP you get with respect to 100%

the above is almost 100% right, except i cant explain the formula myself

as for the math, i cant really explain it. im not a ffxi math genius lol

I was going to make fun of this thread for not just going to ffwiki and obtaining the answer, until I noticed someone had trolled ffwiki's STP page.

    STP works like this:
You floor the normal TP you get from a hit * (1+STP/100)

So for a WAR with Perdu Voulge, /SAM, Rajas, and Brutal:
    floor( 13.7 * (1 + (15+5+1)/100) ) ) = floor( 13.7 * 1.21 ) = floor( 16.577 ) = 16.5 TP/hit
When you use Raging Rush, as long as you don't double Attack you get one normal hit (16.5 TP) + floor( 2 additional hits * 1.21 )
    So: 16.5 + 2.4 = 18.9
If you Double Attack once, you get 16.5 + floor( 3 additional hits * 1.21 )
    So: 16.5 + 3.6 = 20.1
If you Double Attack twice, you get 16.5 + floor( 4 additional hits * 1.21 )
    So: 16.5 + 4.8 = 21.3

Figuring out how to find the amount of STP you need for a 6-hit on Polearm WAR:
Normal TP return on Engetsuto is 13 and the number of average additional hits on Penta with near-capped Acc is 4 (You DA as much as you miss.) Also, you have to accept that you might have different WS and TP STP totals.
    floor( 13 * (1 + wsSTP/100) ) + floor( 4 * (1 + wsSTP/100) ) + 5*floor( 13 * (1 + tpSTP/100) )
    PLUG AND CHUG MUTHAFUCKAAAAAS!!!
15 from /SAM + 1 from Engetsuto + 5 from Rajas + 1 from Brutal is assumed for both TP and WS, so it's a good place to start.
    15.8 + 4.8 + 79 = 99.6
Oh ho ho, not far off. Now add in Ecphoria ring in the TP phase.
    15.8 + 4.8 + 79.5 = 100.1
