If they keep William Dafoe, this could be promising.
As much as I want this movie to be good, so much of me wants to fail so Troy Duffy makes no money like he does on the first movie. He could quite honestly be the biggest douche bag in Hollywood.
I'll go see it. There's an interesting rift regarding Boondock that seems to require that you either think it is one of the greatest films ever made or a complete piece of cinematic garbage. Not me though; I enjoyed it and had fun with it and, therefore, will be seeing this.
Me and my brother decided to rent Boondock Saints today without really knowing anything about it besides it was a cult-classic sorta movie. Needless to say I hope this movie is as good as the first, but I'm not sure really what they could really do with it besides having the three of them on the run for their courtroom stunt.
guess i should have posted this when Sony sent out their newsletter a couple weeks ago

You know, I was really enjoying the fact that Boondock Saints didn't have a sequel, but now there is? Goddamn, that really sucks.
He struck lightning in a bottle with the first movie. It's a really fun movie in spite of it's flaws and if the second is near that same caliber then I will absolutely go see it. But I highly doubt he can follow it up. From the minute I heard the title I cringed. They just call it "Boondocks 2: Electric Boogaloo".
Plus Troy Duffy is known for being just detestable. He was making a documentary about the making of his film which ended up being a documentary about him getting shit on all over.
How the hell long they been making this? I mean, I heard about the sequel in college, putting it back in 2003ish, what the hell they been doing... (Personally think they are gonna screw it up bad)
I don't know. Boondock Saints is one of those movies that shouldn't have a sequel in my opinion.
Stop making sequels to everything!
Sigh.
It is unlikely that this is going to be very good, but unless they sink too much money into the making of it, they'll likely turn a tidy profit on the name recognition alone.
That's the thing. Everyone is going to have way too high of an expectation to it.
I don't expect it to be good at all, so if it is then I will be pleasantly surprised, if not then I won't be surprised.
