Final Cut Express - Color Isolation

I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not, but I have to shoot a video for my media production class and at the end of the flick I'd like to do a quick color isolation with the picture being black and white while retaining the petals on a flower (similar to the Pleasantville effect).

Does anyone have any experience with this or know if it can even be done? Any help would be appreciated; this is the last part of my flick that I'm having trouble with would like to be able to do it if possible

Never used Final Cut, but if it's anything like, say, After Effects, a simple B+W filter + a mask will do the trick very easily.

As TSM says, it's doable in Final Cut (definitely in pro since I know that has the Colour Corrector 3-way mode) but the results aren't quite as great as those you can achieve in after effects.

There are a lot of tutorials on colour replacing/isolation in After Effects, for example Videocopilot.net has a few, such as:

VIDEO COPILOT | After Effects Tutorials & Post Production Tools (using colour ranges to create a mask and then replacing with another image - instead of replacing with another image you could just select the ranges with your mask and then apply a brightness and saturation to it, then drag the saturation of the rest of the clip down)
