Easy webpage designer + Podcast recorder?

Topic. Looking for a pretty simplistic webpage designer, where myself & a friend do not need to know too much HTML to make a decent looking site. A long time ago (10+ years) I used Microsoft Frontpage Express and for the time it was pretty good for me who didn't know HTML. Is there anything similar around today? We're going to be doing a weekly or bi weekly podcast and want a small website to post stuff on. I also have access to torrent stuff so if you can recommend a decent program as well.

As far as recording the podcasts, we were thinking of Skype, an d then just editing as we need. If there's another program out there that is better and free, please let me know. We're not doing anything big time, it's just for fun really and if we get a few hits and followers that's good enough for me. Thanks!

I'd just go with something like Wordpress for a Podcast site. Would be the easiest to maintain. And they have some really nice themes and plugins designed for podcasting.

Or some other CMS like Joomla/Drupal.

I still use Frontpage 2003. If thats what youre used to, just keep using that.
Granted it adds a lot of bloated things, but it gets the job done if youre not going for the super professional look.

Is that compatible with Windows 7? I know they changed a lot of those things around so you have to upgrade to the newer editions. Like how the old Office Suite wouldn't work with Vista or whatever. (if memory serves right anyway)

edit, also would it matter if I used a downloaded copy? I know a lot of times Windows verifies it's authentic and whatnot

As far as I know 2003 works in 7, and chances are you can find a cracked version.

Nah, take it from a web dev., use WP and forget the garbage that is front page. WP is literally the layman's way of updating info constantly w/o knowing anything about programming.

A CMS may be more difficult since it's a more robust sys, so try WP first.

    thirding wordpress in this situation

as for actually recording your podcast, if you're going to be recording from the same place, just use audacity (google it, its free) you can easily crop your audio and boost it if needed with audacity

Okay, I'll give WP a whirl and mess around with it a bit.

As far as recording, we're gonna try Skype out and he can edit it as needed. If it doesn't come out how we like it, I'll give Audacity a try. Thanks all!
