Linux question CENTOS

Ok i have to install a PPTPD server on CentOS 5.3 32bits and the .rpm is not available anymore so i found this site

When i arrive at this step

mount /dev/xvdd /media ; cd /media/CentOS

It doesn'T work,

my goal is to mount my DVD, which is an ISO in VMware esxi.

The file name for the .iso is CentOS-5.3-i386-bin-dvd.iso

What should the line be then?

I'm not good in linux

try:
mount /dev/cdrom /media; cd /media/CentOS

You need to mount the ISO as a loop device.

mount -o loop filename.iso /media/Centos

JUST LIKE THAT EXCEPT FILENAME IS OBV. THE NAME OF THE FILE YOU WANT TO MOUNT

He stated that the iso is in the vmware partition, therefore will be mounted in vmware as a cdrom device. If he copies the iso into the centos filesystem, then yes, your command would work.

well i fixed my problems all i had to do was yum install rpm-build to install the missing RPM
