    asus g72gx and HDMI

i recently bought an asus g72gx and it has an hdmi port. I'm trying to run my ps3 into it for video capture and general fuckery when my tv is inaccessible. only issue is that for the life of me i can't figure out how the hell to get the video to come up.

is there some program i'm missing, or am i just a dumbass and this is only hdmi out?

You people are being duped! The HDMI port on ALL laptops are output only.
He is right all laptops on the market that have hdmi hookups are output only
It looks like your laptop HDMI is output only.

You can play your PS3 on a computer monitor but the requirement for that is DVI with HDCP support. Things you'd need: HDMI to DVI cable for your video and http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2102697 + http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...howFullReviews for your sound. Xbox doesn't need HDCP support since it doesn't have Blu-Ray.

I don't know about your laptop having an HDMI input or not, some laptops do have this but i'm not sure if yours does and it could damage something trying to hook up to it if it's an output.
