HDTV as Monitor, can't see BIOS

tv shuts off during bootup and then comes back on when the windows logon screen is ready, so i can't see my BIOS screen. Even if I hit the correct key ("f2" in this case) for my motherboard during bootup, I still can't see anything since my monitor gets no signal from my pc until windows finishes loading.

Just need to access bios and its fuckin me up. im guessing it has to do with the low vga resolution... HALP

    Chances are you're fucked.

If your TV doesn't have an actual monitor board/port then it will only display once you've reached the OS and it outputs the proper signal format.

This usually happens with lower-end televisions/flats that have no options to adjust input settings/low resolution modes. Check your screen mode lif it supports 640 X 480 60 Hz or lower. If not, as said above, your fucked in that aspect.

As for a remedy, get a pc monitor/etc. and use it for boot/bios config. Then reconnect to your normal display.

I have a small collection of 3 CRT screens I found on the side of the road. All 3 work great! Goodwill also has them cheap too.

If you are using HDMI or DVI try using a VGA input instead. Had this problem with one of my monitors (doubled as TV) that was kinda slow compared to my other monitor (computer only).

You mention low vga resolution but weren't clear if you were using the vga cable (blue ends typically vs. white for dvi or whatever for hdmi)
