Should I go to a UA test all dressed up?

This is for a job and I don't know if I should go all dressed up or not. I will be seeing people in the HR department so I would think yes but I don't want to get dressed up if I don't have to.

    Define 'all dressed up.'

There is nothing unusual or dressed up about wearing actual pants (no shorts, no jeans) and a shirt with a collar and buttons on it to a job-related event, small or not.

Anytime you go for a new job, even if its for a physical (if required) you always show up in dress attire.

You can easily be told to GTFO for showing up in shorts/t-shirt..... and its even easier if you haven't even been hired yet.

Don't have to wear a suit or anything, but dress pants/dress shows/button down shirt/neat hair always go a long way.

What he said. That thing about first impressions, yea. You don't want to be remember by HR as "that guy." If you really want to dress it up, without going too far, throw a tie into the mix.

The power combo: slacks/white shirt/redish power tie/dress socks/shoes. Don't make the mistake of wearing crappy socks or shoes. That is the second most noticed thing besides the entire outfit.

Edit: But since you're just peeing in a cup, prolly slacks/polo/dress socks/dress shoes will be enough.

    Dear Ms. Hiring Manager's Name,
I am interested in the position of Research Specialist at the Laboratory Name. The opportunity was passed onto me by Ms. Co-Worker's Name, a co-worker of mine at Merck Research Labs. Attached is my current resume, which fully details my experience and skills.

As described in the ad for candidacy, I have experience managing and operating various full uHTS robotic platforms. I have experience with Polara and Cellario integration software. As a robotic operator I validated the equipment to ensure quality results and helped optimize assays for robotic screening. In addition to my robotic responsibilities I developed and miniaturized assays for screening against Merck’s small molecule library. Other duties included interpretation of data and publication to the appropriate Merck databases. I also have experience within compound management, specifically reformatting microplate densities and compound titrations that are used for assays.

I would appreciate your consideration as my skills are ideal for the position. I look forward to talking with you regarding this research opportunity at UPenn. I will contact you Thursday to confirm that you have received my email and resume and to answer any questions you may have.

    Respectfully yours,
    Daniel LastName

@Pent: Didn't see anything wrong with it, no mistakes at least. Except one thing, even though it's no mistake: "titrations"...haha.

Thanks, I guess I just feel like all it's doing is highlighting my resume, and not really elaborating upon it. But I just don't get really what all more I can say.

I can't really say how I saved $$ or did anything revolutionary in my work. I guess it comes back to embellishment of what I actually did?

I deliberately never wear matching socks so that people ask why I'm not wearing matching socks.

So do you actually have a good reply to that question? If so, what is it?
