There's a massive amount of "free" (and very unstable/weird/unprofessional) XML Sitemap generators I've tested and to be frank most of them suck, either the GUI is shite or it's just unstable. I'm unable to find one that's payed for that looks good and does the job.
I've even installed Google's Sitemap Generator which is in Beta and appears to be dead, and that too doesn't work despite me following the manual. It just idles.
Can anyone recommend to me a more professional XML Sitemap Generator software? It's not for me but for the client here who are more than happy to pay. I've swam through a lot of them but most of them that can be demo'd doesn't feel good or up to the job.
We're currently using some online one which does the job perfectly (I've tested it all before handing it to them): http://www.auditmypc.com/free-sitemap-generator.asp
But they are scared that it might not be there forever, so have asked to keep the support ticket open until we buy one that they can use locally on their machine.
So... shortlist of requirements:
1. XML Sitemap Generator
2. Can be paid for, must seem professional
3. Ideally installed locally on their machines so we do not need to put it on the webserver itself (permission/access issues), so a website URL can be entered and off they go, the app crawls the website
EDIT
4. Must be Google compliant! (Although they most should be nowadays)
Thanks!
