Are the update notes enough to get you paying?

With the end of the free trial just around the corner for CE owners, and with the massive content update just announced, it begs the question. Were you converted into a believer now? Are you going to drop that cash, even if only for 1 extra month to see how it all plays out?

I quit when I hit CON35 last week and didn't figure I'd look back. The update notes are stuff we more/less already knew was coming but I'm more interested in how the SP updates will pan out. One of the major things that made me quit was SP gains in PTs. It's stupid when during one XP session I'll get 20,000SP an hour and my friend gets 10K and the next day (on the same mobs!) I might get 5K an hour and my friend 30K.

I said I'd stick around till March or I got bored. Neither one has come. Though by the looks of the updates, they are making all right changes. I'm interested in seeing the specifics of what they changed, and if the SP change is indeed for the better.

Exactly the same as Hyan. I'll wait till PS3 release. We'll probably see separate reviews for the game come PS3, so I'd say that will be the best barometer of how far the game has come, outside of everyone's feedback on BG.

Its not like I'd even have time for the game right now anyway. So many absurd games are coming out over the Holiday season that there's something for everyone.

I'm going to wait until they actually release these miracle patches before I give them any more money. $50+tax for the paid beta has been shitty enough so far. This was the first game I purchased with my new job and it has been a huge letdown for both me and my group of friends I started with. They're really going to have to work harder than this to keep this game afloat. My guess is they are cashing in on making the game not-shit for the PS3 launch because they assume that's where the majority of sales will come from. Word of mouth will keep this sinking ship sunk no matter how much they improve the game by march so they'll need to take action and roll out these miracle patches instead of promising game updates 2-3 months after "launch."

Agreed. Those of us currently playing have had to wait a disgraceful amount of time for an update that changes anything modestly.

Those currently playing obviously think it's "good enough"- which is why that shouldn't even matter.

Why would you play otherwise? You can wait without playing the game, too!

I think I'm going to do something wholly original and unheard of and wait until they're done rolling out the huge "shit that should have been added to the game between beta and release" updates to try anything out. And then quit because by then the economy will be fucked beyond belief.

If SP gain is still based on any sort of RNG I will not touch the game, so I'm not renewing or ever intend to until I hear otherwise. Further more, I also require proof that UI lag is gone, w/I doubt is happening anytime soon

Since they said the SP adjustments are coming in the November update, I think you'll have a chance to test that yourself during the free trial.

I answered no because they have a whole lot to prove to me before I'm willing to give it another go. I'll give the game another shot at the PS3 release which will hopefully be 4 full patches from now.

I'm going to have to agree. While all the updates are amazing and everything the game needs, Cataclysm is coming out on the 7th and I am almost 90% sure now that I will be playing WoW again when it hits. I'll just keep a hopeful watch on lodestone until PS3 launch more than likely. I'm still a little spurned by the whole "spent $80 on a collector's edition of a brand new beta." Oh well, so much for ditching wow for Final Fantasy again :0(
