Fuck you guys this deserves it's own thread.
HD goodness with 6 player drop-in online multiplayer. No release date given unfortunately. I just pray the netcode is good.

Did the original machine even have 6-player support? I could have swore it was 4 unless they had multiple builds of the cabinet for additional players.
Shit must get really crowded. Anyways, I'm not that nostalgic for the game, but if the price is right ($10'ish), I'll bite, especially if the netcode is as good as whatever Capcom had their dev employ for the Final Fight port.
I'm also not seeing any 'HD' visuals. Just low-rez upscaled with a filter applied.
Jesus christ that game is 18 years old? Fuck feeling old
Also, Kaisha stfu, if you don't think this is the greatest gaming news of the decade, you don't care about video games.
DIE X-CHICKEN
X-MEN COME TO DIE

This was the only cabinet I ever saw of it and it was for 6 players (obviously). Didn't even know they made ones for less people.
Yeah I only saw it as 6 player cabs.
If they release it they'll probably need a little encyclopedia included so the average fan can figure out who the fuck Dazzler is.
Nope. X-Men and Simpsons were in pretty much every arcade I went in when I was younger, which was plenty.
At least this classic remake wont turn out like TMNT 4 remake.
Oh wow, can't wait.
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. ;/
And christ that 6-player cab is huge. Almost looks like it'd just be cheaper to have a couple 3-player cabs and have the game support LAN play. I feel sorry for whoever got stuck on the ends there.
Simpsons Arcade port would be delicious though. Preferably with a character-select mode built-in so you're not locked to using the character assigned to your controller number.
Not joking, anything less then 100% enthusiasm for this amazing news should be considered a sin.
It's exciting but they're definitely releasing it at the right time, at 15 years old the game is definitely showing its age and in another 2-3 years it would have probably felt too antiquated. I would have liked to see a graphics update like they did with the original monkey island games, but I'm still gonna get this on day 1 for sure.
HAHAHA! I KILL YOU, X-CHICKEN!! WELCOME TO DIE!
I beat this about a month ago on my MAME. Glad to see its hitting consoles. Dazzler looked fine as hell in that outfit.
This is the first time video game news has ever given me a boner.
I'll be grabbing it for sure, but I don't rate a MAME port (with, thankfully, drop-in online play, not sure why so many other ports don't do that) on the same level as I would Megaman Legends 3 or Duke Nukem Forever being announced.
Spoiler: show
