    Repuatable Canadian Electronics Site?

Hey all. I'm in the market for a new hard drive or two (particularly one for my PS3), and I've had no luck with finding anything locally that suited my needs, so I figured I'd order myself one online.

Only site I'm aware of is Tiger-Direct.ca, which is ok, but doesn't have as many options to choose through as I like, as I only see the one hard drive that would suit my needs, and would rather see what my other options are in terms of variety/pricing.

Bookmarked them. Browsed the three, seems the drive I had my eye on earlier in the thread was the cheapest of the bunch. Good to be able to price compare though. Thanks.

Watch out with newegg.ca since they ship from the US and you end up with crazy ass customs fees.

Also NCIX will usually match the prices when TigerDirect is lower.

    Seriously?

If that's true, then that defeats the whole purpose of ordering from newegg at all for canadians.

I wouldn't know because I just walk into the shitty ncix stores in my area to buy stuff when needed.

TigerDirect.ca ships from Illinois, didn't receive duty fees the last couple times I ordered from there. Could be the same case with NewEgg.ca.

Weird.. last time I ordered from TigerDirect.ca it showed on the tracking it was originating from somewhere in Ontario and never paid any customs fees.

The only reason I'm hesitant about NewEgg.ca is because of all the horror stories I've heard from friends who ordered there.

Is it worth stress testing an HD? Order came in a lot earlier than estimated, didn't really get my PS3 backup done yet so I got time to kill.

PS3 could really use some HD tools on it so I can be less lazy and just hook it up to the one system. ;/

[EDIT] On second thought, I just noticed I have no means of mounting this drive to my PC case.

there is no duty fees from new egg, read their faq. Is pretty much what you get is what you pay for sometimes they have weird shipping costs sometimes is free. Shop around pretty much. But there is no hidden costs at delivery.

All tigerdirect stuff comes from IL, unless a "special case" apparently. Newegg opened a canadian warehouse last year in addition to the 3 or 4 in the US.

Not sure of the newegg horror stories as in the US generally tiger has the problems.
