Anyone else out there? Picked up a Majestouch 2 w/ Cherry Browns today, much enjoying it.

The wrist rest is actually god tier as well.

I have a majestouch 2 with blues, and it didn't come with a wrist rest.

It's a great keyboard though, I'll probably never buy anything else

Im a keyboard noob. Whats tactile mean; in regards to keyboards? Dr. Google just has a bunch of shit to sell me so it's not being helpful when I search for it.

Tactile feedback is what you feel when you press a key down.

Rubber dome keyboards don't have much(if any) feel to the action of pressing a key, so they are considered to have no tactile feedback.

Mechanical keyboards universally have a very noticeable and to most users a pleasant "clicky" feel to pressing each key. They also are pressed more easily, and require less force to press than many rubber dome keyboards.

By the way, 99.99% of keyboards are rubber dome.

Ehh.. I guess the problem with keyboards is I have to actually use one to see what you mean. As it stands right now, I can tell when I press stuff so... I'd have to try it out in the reals I guess.

Anyone with a working sense of touch would notice the difference. It's really hard to explain. I was expecting something and got something completely different. Something much better than what I was expecting.

It's not so much that you can tell when you pressed it, as you can tell when the key registers being pushed. Mechanical keyboards don't need to be bottomed out to register a keypress, and those who are accustomed to using them may get used to not pushing the keys as hard as a result.

I've had my mechanical for several months now and I still bottom out like a scrub, but it still feels good man.

The wrist rest is seperate, ~£40, so like $50-60 or so.

I wasn't expecting it to be great ( bad experiences w/ gel rests in the past that were worse than no rest ), but it's really really really really good.

Nice blog but I wouldn't use the word Prime within 100 lines of text of a blackwidow, excluding this post lol, and there is some misleading info on there.

I just sold my Deck Legend with clears, and am currently using a filco tenkeyless with blues and a filco linear 104 with reds... The reds are beyond god tier. My filco wrist rest should be in the mail any day now. Also, it looks like a lot of people are using Filco's here, which if you are looking for your first mechanical should not be what you buy. Also, bottoming out is fine on a mechanical. You aren't a scrub for doing it. But it takes less force to actuate the keypress so you don't need to. This is godly for gaming on cherry reds or blacks. Playing rogue in wow the past week my hand would have fallen off if I hadn't just gotten my board with reds recently.

Start Here and go from there. Going mechanical was one of the best decisions I've ever made regarding my computer. You interface with your monitor, mouse, and keyboard more than any other piece of hardware in your system, so for me it was justifiable to take the plunge into more expensive keyboards. Now unfortunately I've become addicted and want to get my hands on more. I had 3 keyboards on my desk last week, and I've narrowed it down to 2 this week. Both of which I switch between depending on what I'm doing at the computer. I'll probably keep using both of these for a long time, and if I ever do pick which one I like better I can probably sell the other for a profit.

Geekhack is amazing, spend a couple of hours browsing and you will know more about keyboards than you probably thought there was to know.

I personally have a Zowie Celeritas with Cherry MX Browns and I adore it. It's a bit quieter than the blues that are more common, but it does still have some of that satisfying mechanical sound, and it does have a tactile bump. The keys are very light and typing on it is simply effortless. It's awesome for long gaming/typing sessions, my fingers don't get even remotely close to as tired as before. When I have to use a normal rubber dome keyboard now, it just feels cheap and imprecise to me and it's almost hard to type.
