    The Darkness II

Just thought I'd post this here, since I worked on this game and the demo is finally available on all platforms:

    http://store.steampowered.com/app/67370/

Inspired by the popular comic book series produced by Top Cow Productions, Inc., The Darkness II is an intense first person shooter that delivers a twisted and gripping narrative of tragedy, modern crime drama, and supernatural horror.

Players will be taken down the brutal and personal path of Jackie Estacado, head of a New York crime family and wielder of an ancient and ruthless force of chaos and destruction known as The Darkness.

It’s been two years since Jackie Estacado used The Darkness to kill the men responsible for his girlfriend’s murder. He’s been unable to shake the memory of Jenny’s death since bottling up his supernatural power and now The Darkness wants out. A sudden, unprovoked attack by a mysterious organization known as the Brotherhood heralds the start of a full-scale war and opens the door for The Darkness to reemerge, setting Jackie on a journey to hell and worse.
The demo is also available on XBL and PSN. Game launches on Feb 7!

I loved the original. I don't know many people who played it. Don't think it ever made it to PC. I played it one 360 what seems like... 4 or 5 years ago.

I guess it did well enough to warrant a sequel. Not complaining! I was a bit miffed when I heard Starbreeze wasn't doing development. Then seeing the graphic change I was most displeased. After playing the demo however, I am more than pumped for this game. It's way more brutal than the first one was, and that game was pretty dark. I hope it gets some good press!

Loved the first and I was also worried about the new art style but after playing the demo I am very pleased, can't wait to pick this up next month.

The folks over at NeoGAF seem to really dig the demo, http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=458597

    It's also pretty gory.

What happened to Jackie's original VA?

Going to buy the game either way (the demo was really fun), but I'm still sad.

I guess Kirk Acevedo wasn't available for this one. New Jackie is Brian Bloom, he does a pretty good job.

I'll be picking this up as well, the combat from the demo was so much better than the first. Love how gory it is, story seems interesting enough. Feb 7th is going to be a busy day.

pretty good demo, although the dark slash was pretty tricky as it's the mouse wheel, i suppose playing around with the controls would help with that, and 4 player co-op sounds pretty interesting

After mulling it over a bit, I think I'm going to wait for some sales on this, campaign is super short according to reviews, like 5-6 hrs, I can wait seeing as I'm currently playing Kingdoms of Amalur, FF XIII-2 and getting my vita next week.

It's probably 6 hrs if you rush through it (like reviewers do), and then entirely skip the optional vendettas side-story which is another solid few hours.

Running at about 80% on metacritic, pretty decent for a game without a huge franchise.

Unexpectedly got this as a Valentines gift and boy is it fantastic, the SP is a little short, but loved the story and the final level was so much fun.

It is, or a $30 purchase, Im almost done with achievements and at 15 hours of play. But still a fun game none the less, I might keep this if there is DLC coming.

I just can't justify tossing even thirty dollars at a game that is this short. But I'll still check it out one way or another.
