Anyone have any? I want to try one since my XBOX runs and I've been getting more and more game freezes.
I've read that USB ones that draw power from the console are bad news but that's all I can seem to find.

They all suck, the problem with 360 is an architecture and materials flaw. Reflows with better grade solder and or better heatsinks are the only actual solution.
I dont know if this is true or not but I heard a penny is a better heatsink than what they got in there
Old 360 or Slim?
System cools better when vertical (Regardless of old/Slim versions). Also you can make your own cooling setup to run off DC with some old PC fans laying around. Or just buy a small fan from the store.
I'm not going to say fans won't help, because they certainly won't hurt.
But the actual problem is that eventually the solder loosens/cracks and loses contact with the heatsink, so no amount of fans will fix that because you're just cooling the heatsink(which isn't making sufficient contact) not the actual problem area.
While the underlying problem is like darius said, i will say keeping the system vertical does help A LOT with game freezes, etc. In turn however, your room will turn into a sauna quick too, which is why i only place the brobox with the bedroom door open =(

loads of monay
Keep the power supply(that big ass gray box your ac cord plugs into) cool and well vented too, it will over heat and shut everything down even though the console is nice and cool.
Remove the case entirely and point a room fan at it.
Kinda complicated if you don't do much soldering, but on the older xbox's you can splice the wires going to the fan and wire them to a 12v point on the xbox. It basically causes the fans to go VERY fast and makes the xbox run much cooler... however it makes the xbox sound like an airplane
