Bug with legacy characeter

Asking to see if anyone else has this... bug, or whatever.

My account is legacy, it shows in the SE account management site and on the character selection screen but the NPCs don't recognize me, I've got the default intro (same one in beta P3 when you made a new character) after logging in the first time and recustomizing the character.

I have a Legacy Chocobo and a tattoo on my back, yet every single NPC treats me as if I was a new adventurer, has this happened to anyone else? Hope I don't get stuck like that :/

This very thing is explained in many of the storyline quests, even pre-20 cap in P4

Now actually this is interesting. I'm fine but my FC leader is experiencing the same thing as you. He's got the Legacy status on the character selection screen and yadda yadda... same same same... I wonder what happened?

I have the intro where I spawn in the forest. My friend has to go through the new player intro.

I understand what you're talking about because my friend expressed concern since his game is reacting like a BRAND NEWLY MADE character and not a 1.0 character.

Additionally, I would like to state. 1.0 and Legacy characters receive one and the same type of intro and character reactions. There is no difference between these two. Please don't confuse. 1.0 Intro. Not Legacy Intro.

I also didn't get an intro scene in the woods and got the normal Ul'Dah thing, but figured it was "working as intended". Guess not.

How can this be intentional when all my friends are having a different intro plus the NPCs recognizing them? My character is from 2010 completed the whole story line but the game is acting as if I was a brand new character, this can't be intentional.

Not intentional. A lot of the story quest NPCs have specific dialogue where they mention seeing you before but they pass it off as just their memory being fuzzy or something along those lines. Fresh characters don't get this dialogue.

I just explained to the other two what happened Icarian. They were unaware that there was a difference. Apparently they too experienced the same cutscene as you and were caught unaware that there was slight differences.

Yeah, if you're 1.0 you should "Whooosh" into the woods like the opening cinematic has that Hyur WAR, Lala WHM, etc etc... It immediately then cuts to you walking into town normally. Basically you skip all that new player getting you up to date stuff.

From there, characters will talk kinda like new player dialogue but throw in this: "You remind me of those heroes" or "for some reason... I feel like we've met before" and kinda type speech. I'm not that far in the storyline yet so I don't know the full differences.

Thats weird. my 1.0 character didnt start in the forest and walk into town. I got the new character intro as well. i thought it was normal

I have never seen a different intro than "in the cart/boat/whatever with the merchant dude and the albino kids" in P3/4. I've been skimming through a lot of dialogue but I don't recall anyone saying anything about fuzzy memories about me.

Well I hate to break it to you all, but you're all being treated like brand new characters and not 1.0 ones.

I'm sure I'm not making this up. Conveniently though, I recorded my character entering Limsa and starting up for the first time. I can post the video when the game goes live.

The only thing resembling to anything like that was them mentioning the heroes that fought the Garlean empire had the same power as me (Echo)/they've met people like me, nothing like having fuzzy memories of me or saying they think we might have met before.

Plus no intro of me appearing with the other heroes out of nowhere, just the normal boat/cart with the bearded man asking questions.

Looks like there's quite a bit of people with this same issue.

Well you don't appear with them. You appear by yourself. I was using the WHOOSH example from the cinematic to describe what it was like.

Out of my three 1.0 characters, only 1 experienced the legacy intro. The other 2 were treated as fresh characters. They stopped the main quests at the point before we saw the Ascian and the Grand Company quests at the point before we fought the Magitek Boss at Castrum (Whatever). Maybe that had something to do with it.

I wonder if you have to get far enough in the 1.0 storyline to be qualified.
Did not even think about that.

Mina Pulchra experienced all of the storyline in 1.0. Definitely got the 1.0 intro. (And I was battling on the final day in the final hour. I know that doesn't make a difference but I sure as hell felt proud when the characters were talking about the heroes.)

I haven't tested my other 2 basically-mules. My main basically stopped playing a week after 1.21.

That might be it, I completed the first part of the 1.0 storyline (I think it was the level 46-48 one), played till around 1.20, and then on and off, but didn't actually do any storyline missions past that.

Glad we cleared that up. I'll double check with my FC leader but it does actually sound like it was working as intended.

I didn't get the legacy intro, which makes sense given that I quit 1.0 at level 20ish. However, I do recall some references to fuzzy memory and looking familiar to some NPCs.
