Sub-Job Requirements

There seems to be a huge disparity across all the main database sites as to what Jobs needs what sub-job requirements to unlock them. Post any details and links that ensure what Jobs need which sub-jobs to unlock. Moderators, please update the OP accordingly if any new information arises.

Since some (if not all) of the Job requirements have changed, heres a list I've compiled from ingame information as well as some helpful redditors :D Thanks everyone, hope this is accurate. Click here For a nice chart on cross job skills.

Bard = 30 Archer / 15 Pugilist
Summoner = 30 Arcanist / 15 Thaumaturge
Scholar = 30 Arcanist / 15 Conjurer
Dragoon = 30 Lancer / 15 Marauder
Black Mage = 30 Thaumaturge / 15 Archer Proof
White Mage = 30 Conjurer / 15 Arcanist
Monk = 30 Pugilist / 15 Lancer
Warrior = 30 Marauder / 15 Gladiator
Paladin = 30 Gladiator / 15 Conjurer

Official forums and other websites seem to have a consensus that Bard needs Archer Lvl. 30 Pugilist Lvl. 15. Updating the list.

Read carefully.

Red Line connects the main class to their respective job. That job has access to all the abilities of that class. A White Line connects a job to a sub-class; the job can draw upon the abilities of that sub-class.

Which of those sub classes is necessary for unlocking the job? I think that's where the confusion is coming from.

Read it. The '26' minimum level is for the minimum level for cross-class abilities.

black mage requirement is thm 30 arcanist 15
they can use archer skills, but leveling an archer is not required to become blm
i suggest you take archer level 4 for raging strikes anyway

The image is confusing and showing two classes needed for a job. At least that's what I get when looking at. OP needs to be updated in text form on what is needed for what to make it less confusing.

I can confirm for WHM it's either GLA15 or ACN15 which I both have and nothing else (well, I have MRD15 but pretty sure not related).

Ok, do we know exactly how jobs are unlocked yet? Do you just need to be 30 on the main class or do you need to have the subclasses levelled to 15 as well?

To unlock a job, you need:

1) the class the job is based off of (e.g. LNC for DRG) at LV30
2) another specific class at LV15; it's one of the two other classes that the job can crossclass from (e.g. MRD or PGL for DRG), but as nearly all job crossclasses have changed from 1.0, we don't know which one it is yet

Oh, and that chart at the top is confusing as hell; it's really only readable by 1.0 players who already understand how the system works. For example, the "minimum level to crossclass all abilities" number has nothing to do with requirements to unlock jobs; it only tells you what the highest-level crossclassable ability for that class is.

Where do job quests start? A guild if you're on a certain class? Or are they all different?

Being as how every single crafting quest is the same for each guild (at least through 15), I imagine it's a cookie cutter template for job quests.

Black Mage requires Archer to 15, not Arcanist.
