Windows XP and Cutscene Display Problems

I am aware that a number of people have had a problem with cutscene displays and I've heard rumours that this is due to Windows XP. Basically, the problem is that the top half of any proper cutscene does not display at all (i.e. the intro cutscene or when you ride the airship for the first time), often leaving viewers with a fine view of legs and crotches only.

In one of the beta threads somebody mentioned that this was a problem in Windows XP and could be fixed with a particular patch or update. However, that person could not remember which patch this was and I have been unable to find anything myself. All of my windows automatic updates are up to date.

So - does anyone here know how to fix this problem?

I too had this issue, but when I logged on late last night and walked away long enough for the opening CS to kick in, everything looked fine.
So it could have been the MS updates in the last couple of days, or the XIV update last night, or both.

Why are people still using XP??? Seriously 7 is so much better and CP is going end off life.

I had it happen to me on Windows 7 In the beta, it was a Windows update. After I uninstalled it, the problem was fixed.
