So it'll be like regular tekken except you'll have to pay to wear stupid costumes?
All you see is all that is known. The trailer was snuck into a Gamespot E3 promo. A article on Shoryuken said that Namco Bandai will be unveiling a new fighter at E3.
Crafted by Namco Bandai Games' internal Tekken development team, Tekken Revolution provides fighting game fans and newcomers alike the hard-hitting gameplay of the famed franchise. Choose from an initial cast of eight iconic Tekken characters to train and battle against AI opponents in Arcade Mode or take on fearsome human rivals spanning the globe through online Ranked and Player Matches. The game also features new bone-crunching Special Arts and Critical Arts moves designed to help newcomers deliver hard-hitting attacks and advanced players to employ new strategies with their favorite fighters.
For the first time in Tekken history players will be able to level-up their characters, increasing three key attributes; Strength, Endurance and Vigor, to create a combatant tuned to individual play styles. Develop a defensive tank character with high HP to withstand knockout blows while offense focused players can create a damage-inflicting character with low health but high critical hit rates to devastate opponents with a flurry of attacks.
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/...-today-on-psn/Everyone here on the Tekken team is very excited to finally pull the curtain off of Tekken Revolution, Namco Bandai Games’ brand new free-to-play game that is launching today on the PlayStation Network exclusively for the PlayStation 3 system. The team has been hard at work making sure that every essential aspect that has made Tekken one of the best fighting games on the market for the past 19 years is present in Tekken Revolution. From the iconic cast of characters, critically acclaimed fighting engine, and gorgeous visuals, this is the Tekken experience fans know and love. However, since Tekken Revolution is a free-to-play title, some exciting new additions to the classic Tekken gameplay were implemented to take into account not only our hardcore fans, but also the PlayStation 3 owners who may have never played Tekken or a fighting game before. Here is a quick rundown of some of the new features in Tekken Revolution to get everyone up to speed with the new game!
Character Roster
Tekken Revolution features eight iconic characters to choose from at launch. The decreased roster size makes matches more strategic, since it’s easier for players to remember strengths and weaknesses as well as matchups between characters. Each of the eight characters were chosen based on their unique play style and move set. Players will be able to purchase additional characters with in-game gift points, and characters will be added in future updates!
Character Progression System
Brand new for the Tekken series, players will be able to upgrade their favorite characters with XP earned by playing matches. Tekken Revolution features three attributes to increase; Strength, which increases your overall attack damage, Endurance, which increases character health, and Vigor, which increases the chance to land critical hits. This progression system allows for fans to tune characters to their preferred style of play. Do you want to set up Critical Arts combinations and cause additional damage by increasing Vigor, or simply increase Endurance and be able to withstand more attacks? The choice is up to you.
Refined and Streamlined Moves
Tekken Revolution features two styles of special attacks for each character, Critical Arts and Special Arts. Each character has four Critical Arts moves, which give players a chance to deal a large amount of increased damage on critical hits. Characters also have one Special Arts move in their move set, which grants them a period of invincibility at the start of the move. These Arts moves will be the backbone of your move set and will instantly be recognizable by the motion blur and particle effects during the attack.
And that’s just a taste of the improvements we have added into Tekken Revolution to be the first and best free-to-play fighting game around. The Tekken franchise has long been the leader of the fighting genre, constantly raising the bar higher for itself and its competitors. Everyone on the Tekken team hopes you enjoy our latest push forward.
The game is up right now.
I'm gonna download tonight.
so uhh... is it me, or is there no move list or training mode at all here? it seems kinda fun but i have no idea what i'm doing and without any chance to experiment or learn the game mechanics outside of ranked matches (of which there is a finite supply) i can see this getting frustrating fast.
edit- nvm, sorta. you can pause and check your command list during arcade matches, but i think you need tokens to do arcade mode as well.
Played game, finished game with King without using any combo or special, even managed a perfect vs. Ogre, either its because I'm level 1 or they just didn't gave two shits about single player AI. The graphics are ok, but the character intros before each fight are awful. All in all not bad for $Free will definitely play some online whenever my net is not crap.
Yeah the AI is just awful, it doesn't seem like it gets any better. It's full of blatant f2p garbage but it plays alright I guess. No bounds is cool. Stat boosts are not cool. Not competitive in any way considering there's no offline element at all and there's no real reason to play it over TTT2 if you've got it but it's kinda neat for a f2p game. At this point I'm just curious to see how many characters are actually in the game.
The game is pretty much a stripped down version of TTT2 with p2w elements. It seems to have pretty much the entire TTT2 roster that you can fight against in arcade mode, but who knows if they'll open all of them up for players.
I gotta say at 2gb download I was expecting better graphics, fuzzy memory because its been years but I could say original TTT looked better. At least the gameplay is as good as any other tekken.
Eh, if you ain't into Trekken like me, it's a decent way to try it. Anyway, I played it for 2 hours and never ran out of tokens. Couldn't remember most of my Lili combos from Resurrection, but w/e. I tried SF right after and it felt super fast, I couldn't even control my character <_<
Eliza is out but I haven't farmed her up yet.
