Synopsis:

Set to follow the awesome comics written by our favorite Keith R.A. DeCandido, the film would follow John and Aeryn's son, D'Argo (or Little D, as we will always refer to him). Because their baby was exhibiting a set of interesting powers that made him a magnet for galactic villains, we find that John and Aeryn hide their son on Earth to grow up. Now the kid is 19 and ready to go into space with his parents.

  It was recently announced that original Farscape scribe Justin Monjo is writing a screenplay for a spin-off movie. The sci-fi series was created by Rockne S. O'Bannon and produced by Jim Henson Productions and Hallmark Entertainment. It ran from 1999 to 2003. It was supposed to get five seasons, but only ran four. The series ended on a cliffhanger, but co-producer Brian Henson secured the rights to Farscape and developed and directed a three-hour miniseries to wrap up the story that left fans hanging. It was called Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars.
  
  Henson is also set to direct the new movie in development. Thanks to Tor, we have a little information on the story:

i remember seeing bits of farscape when i was kid, because it was on around the same time as some other show, and thinking it was too weird for me. but i watched it again a few years ago and fell in love. i love the idea of living ships, in particular. i totes didnt know they did a comic. and i've forgotten quite a bit; need to rewatch it. one thing i do remember: grey lady cheating on tonguebeard with his son. fucked up. hated that shit when Cordelia did it to Angel, too, even if her memory was "gone." actually, i think i hated pretty much everything about connor and his storyline in Angel.

anyway, farscape. love the show. Looking forward to new material!

Pivot Channel is playing Farscape daily. I actually saw the whole series again minus a few episodes i missed thru it. Then went and watched Peace keeper Wars also. Love this series to death.

But what is there left without WORMHOLE WEAPONS!

I might have to catch up on the comics if the movie is to follow.

Paul Burrows, a very good friend of mine from back in the blog days of L O S T (we started Room 23) sat in on the showrunners panel and sais Farscape is getting a movie. Heard about the Justin Monjo script and that Brian Henson was signed on a month ago - but this is the 1st I heard from O'Bannon.

It's in very early script stages says Rockne.

"Yeah, yeah it’s the worst kept secret…We’re far from production, but yeah, the first step is Justin [Monjo] working on a script for us. We’ll keep our fingers crossed."
