How to edit H.264 videos (ShadowPlay Recordings)

I'm trying to edit my shadowplay recordings to upload to youtube.
Windows Movie maker pulls up the file, but when i play it, nothing plays. I have trying Magix, it wont recognize the file type to edit it. I have also tried DaVinci's Resolve, it wont recognize the file type either.

Any tips or software I can use to edit? I really just want to cut out the first minute and a half of the recording.

FreeMake Video Convertor has the ability to snip/cut etc

    http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/

It's free, simple to use, minimal, etc and really fit for the requirements you've specified (cut out first minute)

Recommend that when saving/converting, you leave your CPU alone as it will eat it all up.

Windows Movie Maker and equivalent is too shit to know the codec.

Thanks, that worked relaly easy. My only problem is that it BUTCHERED my quality. I had to convert the finished product to actually save it. I chose mp4 because that is what it already was. Really killed the clarity of the recording.

Just upload the whole thing to youtube and use the youtube tools to cut off that first minute and a half.

Hm, when saving it, make sure to output it as the same file (which it seems you did) and on the output bit, just select "same as source"

Though yes, it can screw up the quality. Unfortunately I don't have enough expertise/knowledge on why that is, but I presume you recorded using FRAPS which is raw/uncompressed (output as mp4) and then FreeMake applied some sort of control/quality setting on the output. Might need to fiddle.
