Asus G75VW - Gaming Laptop of the Gods

Awesome title, I know. Got you in here. Now you should buy this laptop.

Asus G75VW. Very lightly used, I've probably put maybe 100 hours of gaming into it. Bought it for XIV, but ended up going back to XI because XI is a better game. That's right, take my opinion as fact and absorb it. But really, this laptop is a great little gaming rig. It can handle most games on pretty high settings, runs relatively quiet for a ROG laptop, and it says "Steel Series" on the keyboard panel. That shit just sounds tough. There is very light wear on the outer panel, as you can see in the pictures. Hardly noticeable, and would probably clean off with the right amount of elbow grease. Laptop comes with original box, and power supply. Battery life during gaming is less than impressive, I'll just go ahead and say that.

That's a killer deal. My wife has the 51 with a 128gb SSD and 1TB Secondary drive. Think we paid 1799 for it new last August. It's a beast of a laptop.

What's the battery life on regular use w/o gaming (browsing/word processing)? When was the purchase date (i.e. is it still covered and/or did you get an extended warranty)? And to verify, it's separate mechanical and SSD drives not a combo drive right?

I'm in the market but I was trying to stay in the 14" territory and I have some expiring Dell promo cards, but this is a great deal. I'm prolly a hold-out until after Labor Day because I want to see if I can snag a good offer then.

Using Balanced or Power saver options, battery life ranges from 1.5 hours to 2.5, usually falling somewhere in the middle. The laptop was purchased last October, but I don't have any of the original receipts. My boss bought the laptop, literally never used it, and sold it to me for a solid deal. Like my original post says, I have barely used this thing and just trying to make some of my money back and let it get to someone who might actually put it through the paces, since it just sits around here. Now that I have a kid my gaming consists of xbone on friday nights lol

edit: If you are looking for a conventional laptop for purposes other than gaming however, keep in mind this is a large laptop. Almost 8 pounds and it is most certainly not conveniently sized. This laptop was built with gaming in mind

Yeah I had a 17" gaming laptop during college, and it was such a pain hauling it around, on top of finding an outlet and waiting for it to power on, that I eventually just did pen and paper notes. I switched to an 11" Alienware ultraportable for law school which was much better.

I don't need a desktop replacement but I want something that has the capability to game when I'm on the road since I can be traveling for multiple days at a time. I was looking into 14" models, but at this price point I'm reconsidering my stance. I also think SSD technology and such would make having a 17" machine more convenient than it was ten years ago.
