Serial podcast: the murder mystery of Hae Min Lee

I wasn't actually gonna post this but it keeps popping up on my twitter feed (sportswriters, conan o'brien) so it's probably getting pretty popular at this point.

It's pretty good and i have almost zero patience to listen to standalone audio. 7 episodes out so far and i'd really recommend it to anyone who likes this murder mystery shit. Or maybe you wanna be the armchair detective who wants to get adnan syed out of prison lol.

HE TOTALLY DID IT WTF. maybe. the whole prosecution's case rests on what he has to say and everything's so flimsy. the defense did a horrific job defending adnan and i can't fathom how jay's wishy-washy testimony didn't get completely stomped out by the defense.

his whole involvement is the creepiest part of this story imo. how the fuck did he see the body? when even the experts almost missed it?

I've been listening to this, usually im not a big fan of the NPR/This American Life podcast/radio stuff but I love this show.

Decided to give this a try last night since I was all caught up on the podcasts I subscribe to. Only listened to S1E1 so far but I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to binge listening to more episodes.

I'm not that excited about S02 after the first two episodes. I feel like this story requires a bit more background knowledge on the part of the listener than the murder case from S01 did. Since I haven't lived in America for over 5 years, I just have not heard much about this guy, and I feel like the first two episodes have been a bit confusing as a result.

This week they started doing daily updates on Adnan's new hearing. They're about 15 minutes each so far, and fairly interesting. It's a nice way to keep up with the on-going Adnan stuff.

Also, this week's S02 episode was great. Finally getting into the stuff I wanted from the beginning: What was Bowe's military life like, and closer examination of his motives.

i won't say that this season is as fascinating as the first season one but i like that they bring up some difficult issues. and more and more you can see why he deserted, even though he was definitely messed up on the reasoning as to why.

not sure how many episodes are left. it'll be interesting with the fact that he's in the news a bit more as of late (i think they are gonna decide judgment soon or something?)
