Hulu signs deal with Yahoo!, goes subscription only.
Just saw this come across Variety.
Hulu Ends Free Streaming
I don't think they have the content to sustain a subscription user base. Not to mention it's more expensive than Netflix/Prime if you don't want to see ads.
Also, partnering with Yahoo! is a fucking disaster. They are a sunk ship.
Cancelled my sub immediately.

Didn't Yahoo! just get bought by Verizon in the last week or two?
-
Yes. Hulu is banking on Yahoo-based free views from their new portal to sustain growth while the merger of VZ/AOL and Yahoo proceeds.
I think it's a disaster. Marissa Mayer is one of the worst CEO's I've ever seen. The paid sub isn't worth it in a best case scenario. This is another one of the last gasps of legacy cable providers trying to stay relevant.
Time Warner, Disney, Comcast and Fox all own substantial parts of Hulu for anyone who didn't know.

I pay for Hulu like, one or two months out of the year to catch up on some TV shows, but honestly the whole service is just a mess.

Member since 2006 and still can't think of a title.
Meh, maybe it's cause i only paid for 1 month out of the last two years (thanks bing rewards and swagbucks) but the commercials and shit don't bother me, and lets the wife keep up with her shows without me having to put on an eye patch and peg leg.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?
We paid for hulu for a long time, and then we got Playstation Vue. No need for Hulu anymore.
