FFRK - Flash of White and Silver (Type-0) Event & Strategies

FFRK adds White Lightning and Edgelord Lightning.

    This explains it much better:

    Spoiler: show

"Mother told us to choose, but what exactly are we supposed to choose?" - Seven

"We were just in the thick of it, and now - suddenly - here we are on standby, stuck in the middle of enemy territory!?" - Sice

Within the passages of the Crimson Codex:

Sice: "Foul-mouthed and ferocious, Sice is quick to criticize others' shortcomings and not spare them a second thought. She loathes getting bogged down by other people's problems, a firm believer in the survival of the fittest. Despite her hard exterior, however, she takes any affront to heart. Each and every offense fuels the flames in her vindictive spirit, driving her to fight even further."

Seven: "Despite her cold appearance, Seven is actually quite nurturing. She enjoys the admiration of her female underclassmen, many of whom often refer to her as "Big Sis." Seven has a hard time saying "no" when asked for favors, though, and this selfsame generosity puts more work on her plate than anticipated. Nevertheless, her reliable nature and tendency toward action are precisely why so many cadets look up to her."

    Relics

Kind of a dull banner overall, which is good because we have Quinoa and fest very soon. Not to mention Realms on Parade in a few days.

There is a benefit to this event being only 1 banner though (Banner 2 should be a lightning pick-up) - the selection isn't diluted over 2 banners so this does offer some above average and niche items even outside their in-realm use.

The element boosts are kind of all over the place here, carrying holy/dark/lightning/earth/ice with 1 each.

Biggest note is that Cinque's USB and Rem's BSB pop up here, both offering best in their role for damage and utility. Overall, you'll want to hold off and wait though if you desperately need Sice stuff you'll want to pull now.

    Future Event Banner Comparison:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/FFRecordKee...ex&sh=486496b1

Jack B2 shares 8 items with B1 here. Jack's overall problem is that he shares a crowded fire and Samurai set, and Ace is maybe only the 3rd or 4th best fire mage and most of his stuff is on B1.

This even is also in the dead zone where banners held a 2% "featured character" pull rate that was shortlived.

    Element Boosts:
    Spoiler: show
    Banner 1:
    • Lightning: King USB
    • Earth: Cinque USB
    • Ice: Seven BSB
    • Dark: Sice BSB
    • Holy: Rem BSB

    Banner 2:

    Ultra EX/Chase Type Glossary:
    Spoiler: show
    Rules of thumb:
    1. Stat buffs from the EX mode have a unique ID and will stack with everything.
    2. Many USB’s come with a built in class damage boost. These are separate from the iteration class boosts and do stack.
    3. EX modes last 15 seconds, while buffs provided by the USB entry last 25 seconds. (Terra is an exception, with her EX Mode lasting 25 seconds).

    Special Effects:
    • General Boost: These can be anything specifically tied to the EX Mode - HP Stock, Crit Fix, Cast Speed, Element Boost, Stat buffs, and even Break Damage Limit. This will stack with every other buff on the user, including other EX Modes.
    • Rank Boost: This provides a damage boost scaling with the rank of the ability used. The boost starts out at ~5% for R1 increasing to ~30% for R5+.
    • Class Boost: This provides a flat damage boost for a specific class of abilities (Knight, Black Magic, etc). Generally weaker than the Rank Boost at ~15-20%, but applies to all abilities under that class - including Burst commands.
    • Chase: Follow up attack(s) triggered by using abilities of a specific element or school while under the EX Mode. The number of these chase attacks can be random, reliant on the rank of the ability used (Rank Chase) or status of the user (Status Chase).
    • Cycle: Unit receives a quickcast or instacast charge when using abilities tied to a specific element or school – generally meant to be used in repetition for maximum effect.
    • Build Up: A gradient damage boost toward a specific ability school based on the number of ability uses from the start of the battle to when the EX mode is applied. This buff is not tied to EX mode duration, and will persist whenever the EX mode is active.
    • Wind Up/Finisher: Generally applying to Summoners, this will provide additional damage based on the sum total of all type (class or element) damage done during EX mode when the mode expires. The unique aspect of this is that a recast of the USB will count toward the exit damage of the previous EX mode.
    • Phantom Cast: This effect will auto cast an attack every few second at a set rate independent of the character. The number of attacks or potency is not reliant on any outside factors (Haste, Slow, QC) and will generally produce 4 actions per EX Mode.
    • Cheer: This will grant a party wide effect after using a triggering ability. For example, Marche will triple the cast speed of every front row party member (himself included) for 1 turn after he uses a Knight ability.
    • Ability Double: This will guarantee that an ability will cast 2 times per use at the cost of 2 hones. The first cast can trigger appropriate W-Cast materia for a total of 3 hits, but the additional hits will not generate SB gauge.

    Banner 1:

Seven starts us all off and kind of gets the Fran treatment with her Support role. Her USB is 10x ST ice/non magic damage with imperil ice and an Atk/Mag/Res -50%. A nice debuff, but a little underwhelming against Rinoa, Edea, or Ysayle.

Her BSB is a little better, but suffers from being a BSB. Entry is 8x ST ice/non magic damage and a Full Breakdown effect. Her commands are both Black Magic, with C1 dealing 2x ice/non damage + Power BD and C2 the same but with Magic BD.

Sice makes out a lot better as a decent dark element physical user, but an arms length behind Sephiroth and Decil. Her USB is 10x ST dark/non damage with en-dark and a Build Up + Finisher EX 'Malice Mode'. 'Malice' gains a stacking crit rate (30/50/70) and cast speed (2/2.5/3) buff with every Darkness ability used. Her exit damage is based on dark element damage during the EX mode, so recasting the entry can boost itself.

Her BSB entry is a good utility piece as well, granting Hastega, Atk/Def +30%, and 8x ST dark/non hits. The commands are a bit more bland though. Both are Darkness school, with C1 dealing 4x ST dark/non damage and C2 hitting for 3 times and granting Darkness quickcast for 3 turns.

    Returning Items:

    King: USB, BSB
    Cinque: USB, BSB
    Queen: BSB
    Rem: BSB

    Banner 2:

    Lightning element pick-up.

    Returning Highlights:
    N/A

    Legend Materias:
    • B1 - Seven: Small chance to minor imperil-ice after using an ice element ability.
    • B1 - Sice: Begin the battle with en-dark.
    • B1 - King: Begin the battle with en-lightning.
    • B1 - Cinque: Begin the battle with en-earth.

    Emina: I'll be waiting.

    Ultimate + Apocalypse Battles
    General Bashtar
    凶Bashtar
    HP: 260,000
    Target Score:
    • Defeat General Bashtar with 3 or more heroes not KO'ed.

    Weak: Lightning, Wind
    Absorb: None
    Resist: None
    Null: Earth
    Status Vulnerabilities: None

Notes: Bashtar carries a mixed offense, but the bigger worry is the form mechanic which nullifies magic/melee damage on a varying basis. Do note that his immunity is with melee damage and not ranged damage. Physical ranged units can deal damage regardless of phase.

He will start the fight in "Low" form and immune to magic. Every 4 turns he shifts.

With HP that low however, it is possible to defeat him before he ever becomes immune to melee damage with a normal party.

    Snow Giants +
    凶Snow Giant x2
    HP: 170,000 each
    Target Score:
    • Defeat the Snow Giants with at least 3 characters not KO'ed.

    Weak: Fire
    Absorbs: None
    Resists: None
    Null: Ice
    Vulnerabilities: None

Notes: 100% physical fight. Both targets must be defeated to win the battle.

Luckily, this is a straightforward physical fight with some ice element damage to worry about. They can stun you with a ST attack at a decent 48% clip, but overall that isn't worth removing ice resist for.

Under 40%, they do carry a worrysome piercing physical attack that can be used fairly often with bad RNG. Ultimate Drumming can also grant them a +Atk boost, so keep that in mind.

Acolyte Archive: Ace can do well with the fire weakness, as can Queen.

Otherwise you're not really required to bring anyone for a specific mechanic, so go nuts.

    Supersoldier Akkad (Apoc +)
    滅Akkad
    HP: 484,000
    Target Score:
    • Defeat Akkad with 2 or more heroes not KO'ed.

    Weak: None
    Absorbs: None
    Resist: None
    Null: None
    Vulnerabilities: None

Notes: 100% physical fight. Like a lot of our other Type-0 events.

Akkad can decrease a target's defense, and an AoE physical hit that removes Protect. Neither of these moves will be used above 40%.

Additionally, all his attacks are ranged damage.

Watch Protect removal, but otherwise this is straightforward.

    Nimbus (Apoc ++)
    滅Nimbus
    HP: 580,000
    Target Score:
    • Defeat Nimbus with 2 or more heroes not KO'ed.

    Weak: None
    Absorbs: None
    Resist: Omni (50%)
    Null: None
    Vulnerabilities: None

Notes: Yay, omni resist fun! Also 100% physical.

He carries the same 4 attacks the entire fight, but with each phase they gain either a debuff, AoE, or increased damage.

At phase transition (70% and 40%) Nimbus will use a potent def piercing strike against 2 or 3 party members. Try to stack 2 Atk debuffs or maxed out on healing before phase shifts.

Below 40%, Apocalypse Pierce will stun you almost always. Thankfully it is only ST.

Acolyte Archive: This can be a tough one depending on your Type-0 SB access and who you have dived/magicite progress.

With the omni resist, your preference may shift toward utility options for in-realm. Ace can instantly P Blink the party. Deuce is almost a necessity for healing, but Rem can self sustain and output damage if you have some of her options.

Bring who you can and try to supplement some missing SB access with 6* abilities. Not an easy fight, but manageable with some limited resources, for sure.

No Type-0 healing SBs for me, so this Apoc CM is a no go... and man, I cant do any damage.

    Edit: on second thought...

99 Nine Aerial Dive, Cyclone Bolt - USB - mako might
80 Seven - Full Break, Powerbreakdown - USB
    99 Cinque - G Swing, G Charge - USB - Earth+
99 Rem - Curada, Hastega - BSB - WHM doublecast
99 Queen - tornado strike, lifesiphon - BSB

Breaks made it survivable and it turns out that's all I needed. Emperil Wind from Nine USB boosted damage for everyone using wind, the fight was still long though - probably stretched Divine Grimoire to it's limits. No deaths. No medals lost. CM complete.
