PS2 Emulators

Anyone know how to work these things? I'm trying to play FF12 from my PC, i have all the bios in the folder and am using the PCSX2 emulator. I can get it to load up without any files but I cant get it to load my FF12 CD and recognize it.

FF12 loaded up for me but ran like shit due to the emu. You needed to patch it (forgot what was the proper name for it, but it was part of the emu) so it would skip the FMVs.

Check their forums. Theres a ton of FF threads.

Do these actually work? I had the impression that they're all way too premature for the games to run well.

PCSX2 works great, depending on the game. I was able to play FFX to completion a few months ago. HOWEVER, the catch is that you need a fast dual-core rig and a good graphics card to get playable speeds

Save States/ScreenShots/FRAPS/Video & Sound Settings are the things that come to mind with Emulating it over using PS2. Also can HexEd the game as you play if you really wanted to. But as stated unless your already getting a new PC I wouldn't go buy a new Duel Core machine just to Emulate a PS2, the advantage of a PC Emu over a PS2 Emu just isn't worth it imo.

Yes if you're buying a new PC/Already have these things on your current one then it would obviously be the better choice... but buying random hardware just so your pc can play PS2 games is silly when the console itself + the game isn't worth over 150.
