Chocobo Care Plans

I was looking at the care plan on this page:

It gives a bunch of numbers for most, but along the middle there is a diagonal for each stat that says x5%
After a while wouldn't x5% really be alot more than the +5 or +8 from errands? I'm wondering if this really is that case or if I'm misunderstanding the table.

What is the best way to raise a chocobo you want to be first class in speed and strength but still get abilities in time? That's what I'm most interested in..

That's normal, oddly. Friend crossed black x blue and got red. My red came from black x black. LS has also had people with yellow x black = blue and red x black = red.

And on that chart, I have no idea. Back when I was raising birds all the time, I checked that page a lot and never saw the chart. Either I'm blind or it's newly added.

Dunno about the care plan thing. I'd recommend just doing packages every day and ignoring mental stats because racing is a waste of time, but meh.

About the color... if the parents are purebred there shouldn't be any chance of that happening. I've bred black chocobos with lots of nasty incest for a while and never gotten anything but black, and I've given cards to 30+ people.

I've definately gotten a yellow bird out of green/green parents; milkman visit while he was out at work? /sigh

As far as the plans, yes, in theory +5% after about 20 days, but i haven't really tried it. Plus, I'm not so sure that chart is correct 100% (seems like people kindof arbitrarily made up numbers). There are many things that cause variation in it, at the least. If nothing else, the fact that you can do "deliver packages" and have your stats increase on different days shows that it can't be a set +# every day.
