yeah, i'm getting up to see that now.
well, i managed to catch some of it, but when i went back for my camera, it either moved below the tree lines (eastern pa is hilly, so hard to find a good vantage point) and/or was blocked by the fog that rolled in.![]()
Its pitch black and perfectly clear in Seattle tonight. Not as nice as the country side, but its about as good at it gets for the city.
it doesn't look like a "total eclipse" from LA, you can still see the moon, it's just very very dim (compared to being pretty bright normally), like it's covered by clouds even though it's a clear sky
i was expecting to see it completely gone from view
That's not the way it works. There's still enough light bouncing around to make it light up, although it gets significantly darker, and also takes on a very deep reddish-orange hue. Personally I think that's a lot more beautiful than if it just disappeared.Originally Posted by GRT
Myself, my girlfriend and her friend all were out last night with binoculars and the DSLR camera taking pictures. I'm kicking myself in the ass though for not getting a T adapter for my telescope. I've got a very nice super-wide eyepiece for it that would have made spectacular photos. I'll post the pictures we took later on, if they turned out good. Only saw them on the LCD screen of the camera so far.
I missed it heh, went to sleep right when it was starting too.
Oh well.
