I searched the forums and the Wikipedia entries, but I couldn't find any specific information on how experience gained from fights worked. Anyway, I had an interesting thing happen with my level 45 monster. At level 43, my experience gained against the level 50 champ went from the usual 100 to 75. I also noticed that the comparison text changed from the usual of "the champ won't have any problem defending its title" to something about how anything could happen. I went from 43-45 getting 75 a fight, then I started getting 5 experience a fight. I noticed the champion had changed, but it seemed that with as much pruning as had happened on my server, anything below at least 49 was highly unlikely to win. I got 5 experience two fights in a row, so I thought to look up information on this and found out there wasn't any, so I'm going to maintain a chart to show how much experience is gained from winning or losing against a relative level. Please share any information you get and I'll fill it in. I'm going to go by the assumption that 8 or more levels in one direction is about the point where no difference between levels occurs.
Wins:
-8 or lower = 5?
-7 =
-6 =
-5 =
-4 =
-3 =
-2 = 100 (got it as a level 11 winning against a level 9, so not sure if any chart too much higher is necessary)
-1 =
0 =
Losses:
-2 = 5 (rematch with level 9, he won)
-1 =
0 =
+1 =
+2 =
+3 =
+4 =
+5 = 5?
+6 = 75
+7 = 75
+8 or higher = 100
Once I get on next, I'm going to see if I can get a duel with someone I know to be level 50 to try and confirm if losing to a monster 5 levels above is only worth 5 experience.
