    Dancer speculations

Since there is no thread about dancer here, i'll start one.

    Dancer

    Weapon
    - Primary weapon should be dagger, as we have seen in trailers. Maybe ability to use 1h sword or club at minor skills.
    - In video we've seen that they can use Evisceration, so dagger skill must be at least C+.
    - However due to their dances that need TP, their dagger skill must be somewhat higher at least B+ to A- to melee effectively.
    - THF who is the master of dagger has a skill of A- so dancer's skill should be somewhat lower, just like comparing BLU's to PLD's sword.
    - With the most possible case, dancer's dagger skill = B+

    WS
    - Dancing Edge is obviously accessable because dancer should not live with Cyclone until they get Evisceration.
    - Sharkbite ... maybe 50% chance on this. Either BLU or COR or early release PUP those fall into hybrid DD category don't have access to lv 225 weapon skills.
    - Evisceration 100% accessable

    Defensive Skills
    - Dancer should be somewhat elusive. Giving it a B or B+ in their evasion skills is good enough.
    - Parrying skill must be low.
    - Guard/Shield, not for dancers ofc.

    Range Attacks
    - I can't imagine dancer shoots with bow/xbow/guns.
    - They might be able to throw something, just like darts or what so ever.
    - If their dance moves have good range, low TP usage, they will not need to access range weapons.

    Attributes
    - CHR, dancer should be 3rd job that heavily rely on this stat. I don't see any reason that dance moves will not effected by CHR. MND and INT mods are dumb with dancing abilities after all.
    - AGI or DEX, in their real meanings, are acceptable to modify dance moves. Still, CHR should be the one.
** Dancing Edge is boosted by 40% CHR as well. It has a real nice synergy here.

    Job Trait
    - Store TP is nice synergy for this job. Currently Store TP is only accessable by SAM. While dagger's TP per hit is laughable, giving a minor Store TP bonus to dancer seems to be a solid choice.
    - Also Square should not force dancer to /SAM to get Store TP and Meditate for more effective dance. Because /SAM is categorized as 2-hand weapons subjob, it would be stupid to do this.
    - Regain ... well, this is not new. We've seen this kind of ability from temp potion and DRK's pulling the string gorget. It fits really well with this job. While dancers have to waste their TPing time to dance in front of the mob, this job trait seems to be really possible. Says 1TP/tick ... that's only 20TP/min which is acceptable. However, we don't see that dancer automatically gains TP in the osaka preview events so maybe not.
    - Resist [INSERT HERE] ... I don't care
    - [INSERT HERE] Killer ... I don't care

    Equipment
    - Plates (Hauberk/Cuirass), Obviously inaccessible
    - Half Plates (Hauby/Chainmails), Obviously inaccessible
    - Eastern Clothes (NIN/SAM/MNK), Obviously inaccessible
    - Scales (Mails), Should be inaccessible
    - Subligars (Harness), I guess not ... Hume Elv in subligar and dance ?!
    - Clothes (Doublet, Robes, Cloaks, Aketons), Yes obviously
    - Leathers (Jerkins), Possibly - BLU and COR has access to this while PUP do not. Dancer is hybrid dd/support and ability that requires TP, they should get access to this kind of armors.

    Re: Dancer speculations

Some nice guesses there. All will be revealed soon enough. I have been thinking about this job for a while. We have been told that this job has the ability to produce a provoke effect, coupled with its frontline healing buffing and debuffing abilities, it could be a good hate puller. If it also has decent evasion, with /nin sub it could be an alternate tanking option. I may give it a spin just to check this out. I could be wrong and it turns out to have crap evasion and a bad idea, but it would be interesting to find out.

Dancing Edge is a THF only WS. So I highly doubt SE would give Dancer DE. COR has a B (-?) in dagger and they don't get dancing edge.

Marksmanship WS were /RNG and Detonator RNG only until COR came around, so it's not like it's out of the realm of chance.

    Re: Dancer speculations

THF isn't master of dagger. THF is a master of evasion. Therefore, there is no reason why dancer can't have A+ in dagger

Puppetmaster was given all Hand-to-Hand weapon skills except for Asuran Fists and Final Heaven. One Inch Punch, Raging Fists, Howling Fist, and Dragon Kick were previously all MNK-only. There's no reason SE couldn't give Dancer the ability to use Dancing Edge, or any other dagger weapon skill for that matter.

either they have high skill in dagger (B+ minimum) or they get a C skill in weapon and get therefore a Tp-regen job trait.

    Re: Dancer speculations

Seeing as most TP dependent jobs have at least a B+ as a weapon, no less than B+, maybe A in Dagger and give them a TP-regain trait, the job is based purely on TP, it only makes sense.

Don't even bother to give me the:

    "But it's SE..so you know.."

Just like BLU were given Store-TP because most spells are based on TP (Chain Affinity) so yeah...

I know I'd be doing something other than posting on a forum if that were my particular circumstance.

On the topic of "Master of such-and-such" don't BRDs have a low instrument skill? Something akin to a B-? I'm not one, but I recall some LS BRDs discussing this a while back.

However BRD combines BOTH C in singing and C in instrument skill together to land a debuff ... while I don't expect a dancer needs any tool to dance.

Yeah, making it pretty accurate/potent for the most part.

Not that you'd need it on most occassion, since most songs has either maxed potency (all BRD debuffs) or maxed accuracy (BRD buffs)

Got your dick caught in a blender again?
No, you just need to bitch less about your job when a good amount of jobs lacks what you believe to be something that actually matters.

Not like Summoning Skill even does anything remotely close to being significant to begin with, I mean extra few seconds of buff with less than half the potency of a BRD or COR...yeah that'll fix SMN

either they have high skill in dagger (B+ minimum) or they get a C skill in weapon and get therefore a Tp-regen job trait.
I'm gambling on Auto-Regain, but I wonder if 1 TP/tick can actually support dancer effectively enough if the moves are TP intensive and they have less than A/B skill.

It could be multiple tier, but that'd be the first of any natural Auto trait.
