k so I'll try to be as helpful as possible

it was on Fox, Sunday Mornings, Fox29 if it helps

main guy turned into/could control (i forget) some kind of gundam-ish style robot to combat the alien invaders but the longer he stayed in it the more it controlled him

i think once he nearly hurt his sister, and i'm pretty sure he had an evil brother

this had to be like.. 1995-6? it was on at like 9 or 10am EST

btw I realize I am pretty much asking for the name of a white guy, brown hair, medium height

but if anyone could post a couple pics of what they think it might be, i know i'd recognize it

not escaflowne, too 'cartoony'

main char was tall and thin, sharper lines, dark hair, maybe black/dark brown

he was also rather moody but not emo, kind've a quiet type, i seem to remember strong military themes

edit: tekkaman seemed close, but i didnt recognize alot of the characters in the poster/dvd cover

also, some of their faces seemed a little goofy in that picture, i don't remember any comedic relief in this (no crazy giant tears or huge wobbly mouths) it seemed to be serious serious drama and action, with some flashbacks maybe?

thanks irl, btw it's a great series if this is the one i'm thinking of, i got so hooked on the story and pissed off at missing some/any of it because of church i eventually told my mom i wasnt going to church anymore

she cried but it was worth it haha, a month later my brothers stopped going too, whoopsy

What did the aliens look like? Or their ships? Did anyone else use giant robots or just the main character? Any female leads? (other than the sister)

So far other than Esca I can only think of maybe Nadesico, but that's notable for other factors.
