Ok so I plan on buying a new TV for brawl

I've narrowed it down to 2 TVs I think.

I'll be buying from Wal-mart because I get to use my friend's employee discount when I do buy it but I wanted to get some opinions. I know most people are like "omg samsung rulez" but i've also heard some good things about Vizio. I'll also be playing Xbox 360 on it if that makes any difference at all. Discuss.

firstly how far off your tv are you going to be sitting?

i own the 37" vizio and i love it, but getting it home and looking at it makes it a lot larger than i thought it would be, and anything more would have been too big for my living room.

My bedroom, so not very far. A few feet.

measure the size of the tv in the space your gonna put it, get something of around the size if you can and envision how big its gonna be sitting there. if its too big and you're too close your gonna really strain your eyes looking around.

I use the 42 inch Vizio and think it is perfect. I feel if you buy a new HDTV you want to make sure it's something you're gonna love and not see something new a week/month later and be pissed.

Because of this, I recommend to go a little bigger than you initially planned to make sure you will be pleased. And Vizio is a great brand to go with.

I use a 42' Plamsa Samsung (shoulda went with LCD >.< but I'd imagine that the dimensions in your bedroom arent very big, so I'd settle for a 32-37 inch. I think a 42 is to big for a non master bedroom. Friend has a 32' LCD Sony Bravia and loves it (but not as much as his 37' LCD Samsung).

Edit: Man, $98 for 10 more inches is hard to pass up tho.

Edit2: Vizios are just plain ugly to me(actual tv not screen res). Samsung TVs look so much nicer but I guess you end up paying for the look and the brand name rather than the quality.

I agree Vizios are slick looking, I have the silver one and think it looks great.

Yeah I decided on the solid black Vizio 42" but I was kinda sad to find out that Wii isnt HDMI compatable. I really wanted to play brawl in it. Guess i'll just have to settle for 42" of normal in my face action.

just buy component and settle with the 480p, thats what we all have to do =(
