Starting ffxi on secondary monitor

I play ffxi on my laptop, which has a secondary monitor with much higher resolution than my laptop's. Since it is a laptop, it won't let me change my primary monitor. How can I get ffxi to go full screen into my higher res monitor w/o putting it on some shitty 800x600 res on windower and then just hitting the maximize button to still have shitty res.

What do you mean "it won't let me change my primary monitor"? In your display settings, settings tab, if you click on the 2nd monitor you should be able to check "use this device as my primary monitor" and you should be able to launch FFXI on the other screen. I do this with laptops all the time, I have no idea why it wouldn't let you change your primary display.

start it in a window, drag it over and type //window_togglefullscreen or maximize or leave in a window, what ever you feel like doing

Wouldn't that only stretch it? I want to be able to match the resolution of my second monitor; not just have the same resolution and stretch the image.

Can you set it as the primary in the ATI Control Panel? Only reason I can think of why that'd be greyed out.

Yeah, I never use the windows settings thing anymore... I find the driver software is much better.
