Adamantoise question

If I was looking to kill the NQ version in the hopes of getting an egg for my Black Belt (10% drops I know), how many people would i need to help me and are there any specific jobs I need? I imagine a ninja tank, a DD or two, and a rdm and whm should suffice. Assuming I get the claim, would this be enough? Thank you for the info.

A competent melee/nin & a decent mage could probably duo it comfortably assuming there were no adds to deal with.

Given that he's clearly never fought it he'll want to bring more than that to deal with the inevitable adds. With that zone it's not 'if' you get adds, it's 'when.' Nothing worse than being the new guys at Valley and wiping to adds on a messy Adamantoise claim. Even if his friends could duo NQ turtle he'd want more than that to cover the spawn zone on windows anyway.

He's quite soloable by a NIN without adds. Last time I claimed solo, I was on pace for a ~24 minute kill before help showed up, despite having to wear an evasion build and occasionally debuff manticore adds before someone pulled them off me.

However, Adamantoise's drop rate on the egg is either utter shit or this game is mocking me again. I'd strongly advise you to go the KS99 route if possible, because I have never seen NQ drop egg (Albeit in only 15 or so kills max).

Good point. To be more specific, were I intending to camp it myself now, I'd like to go with a party of 6, or as a minimum, a duo for adamantoise and a BST to be a one-man add alliance

on Fairy people just ask the LS that killed it for the Egg. most hnmls dont really need the black belt items any longer. it happens at all 3 kings, solo mnks out there all the time just asking for the items.

Me on NIN/DNC in evasion gear and a WHM friend of mine were able to duo it and we had a very large number of pops on us (up to 4-6 at a time). When pops got too overwhelming for the WHM to handle with Repose I would spam Waltz on her to get hate, and then had her melee Adamantoise to keep claim and soloed down pops while they kept claim on Ada. It is very easy to kill Adamantoise with 6, even as low as 4-5 depending on your job combos.

Yeah it's soloable but it'd be best to bring support to prevent adds being a problem, NIN WHM and maybe another DD would work fine. WHM over RDM simply because Repose is nice for Peryton's.

Or you could just ask for the Egg

at least during the actual fight.

Was going to post the same, I was fucking around once and CS'd it...couldn't believe how much I did to it. I think RDM/NIN unloading 2 mana tanks + one nuke from a BLM should do it (the RDM might be able to solo, but iirc you'd need 0 resists of any kind). It may have also been iceday when I did that.

As another piece of advice, try and get Day 1-3, getting TOD the day Aspid dies. A lot of shells will not camp D1-3 turtle, and just keep mules or estimate it to D4.
