I'm not sure how I feel about asking applicants to post their own BC. It is rather lazy, but much more importantly, you run the risk of people self-censoring. While the BG community isn't exactly short on people who don't mind calling someone a cunt to their face, the majority of people using the BC forum aren't forum regulars.

By having an officer post the BC, you allow people to PM the OP if they wish to, as well as avoiding a situation which smacks of "Do You Like Me Y/N Circle One". It has been commented numerous times that when the object of a BC jumps into the thread, things proceed poorly; having them start the thread is questionable.

That being said, if anyone does have information on the OP, this is the place to post it.
