Vyvyan of Asura, Spharai MNK RMT'd account & stolen items

Long story short, Vyvyan of Asura (previously Tyramut of Carbuncle and has posted here on BG under username Tyramut) RMT'd his account about a week ago. The character is a fairly obvious topknot male hume with Spharai so not an easy accout to hide on whoever the new owner might be. There is also a possibility that the sale of it has been just a front and he's just server hopped. 75 MNK/SAM/NIN, with very good gear for all his jobs and very distinct set of player "skills" (has a habit of for example showing up to Salvage as MNK/WAR and Hundred Fisting Fafhogg just to stroke his e-peen with absolutely no regard to the safety of anyone else in the zone or the outcome of the fight for rest of the alliance). So in truth wheter it was sold to a complete n00b or wheter it's still owned by original Vyvyan it may take a while to know for sure.

We kicked him from Chroma about two weeks ago for blatantly ignoring any LS rules repeatedly for the last few months. During events he would simply take his pearl off and go loiter in Whitegate or skip events to do Salvage which simply isn't fair towards everyone else. He would only attend what he felt like doing at any given time and he was making it very obvious (most peeps with half a brain would simply not log on for events they did not like but he'd log on and make sure everyone knew he would not be attending). After multiple warnings over the past autumn and winter he was finally removed from the shell. His initial response was that he would not return any items lent to him either by LS bank or by his fellow LS members and that he had already sold most of them anyway. Basically making him a thief, he was then kicked from his two Salvage statics and next thing we heard of him was that a post was spotted on egamingsupply that looked exactly like him.

When he RMT'd his account he had in his possession items lent to him by LS bank (Cerb Mantle, Hades Sainti, Hermes Sandals) and items lent to him by his fellow LS members (Black Tathlum) that were obviously lost or in other word, stolen. In addition, he had the login information to a shared TH4 account (decently geared 75THF, BLM) that a previous LS member who has quit the game had left for three people to access and use. Vyvyan was one of those three. He changed the password of that account and removed everything non-rare/ex worth selling off it (SH+1, Azoth, Cerb Mantle etc.) before returning it to the others after much pleading from the original account owner.

While we knew Vyvyan to be a fairly self-centered player, nobody expected any of this or he would had never been lent the items in the first place or the trust to access the TH4 mule. He received so much kindness it is simply unbelievable he would repay it like this. It has also been brought to our attention by other sources that they for long suspected him for buying gil although we have no direct proof of this.

I knew Moot from waaaaay back, when NIN was his only 75 job and didn't have half of the things he has now. We did CoP Missions together (Kaiyzer/Audio and Leolai were also a part of that same group) and essentially grew up in the game as friends. He had always had a habit of being completely focused on his own gain, and to hell with anyone else's opinion. We had a similar situation to your mule happen here; a friend of ours quit the game, and he stripped the character and kept all of the items for himself. He also used the character (and his own) to participate in RMT activities back when sky was overrun with them. He'd join them and freelot abjurations from the RMT, etc. He's also a huge compulsive liar. Not once can you accept anything he says as the truth.

Is it true that he (or his character) might be back on Carbuncle now? I've been looking around for a character that meets the description, but I've yet to find him.

Really disappointed that he did this on not one, but two servers. We used to be friends, but apparently video game shinies are the only thing that matters to him, and always has been.

EDIT: @Niki, it's possible that the sale thread was a ruse to get off of Asura. The OP mentions it, but I've heard this from other sources as well.

It's possible. He created a mule character on Carbuncle called Vyvyan using the account he temporarily stole. That character was only created after he took the account so it's possible he created it to ensure a name change on transfer? I don't know, I've never personally server transferred but I assume that's how it works.

What Skirkle and Jem said, there's a high possibility that this player is still playing on a different server OR if it was really sold then some (un)fortunate LS can expect to see an application from a bought Spharai monk.

Unfortunately, I'm not. When m00t switched to Asura from Carby with us, his attitude was terrible and from what I heard from people that moved over to be with him, it just got worse. So it doesn't surprise me at all that he did this :/

Nobody in council at the time Vyvyan/Tyramut joined us in June 2007 knew any of his past on Carbuncle and for the first year+ of his membership Vyvyan was an exemplar LS member. High attendance, generally friendly and helpful, sure there were some minor niggles but so's the case with almost everyone. It wasn't until his Spharai were complete that we saw the darker side of him. Had anyone known (or spoken out) of his RMT-related past, he would had never been accepted and kicked on spot if it had come to light after he was a full member.

Most of us on Carby would of told you, that knew him, if we had caught the BC in time. I think by the time anyone saw it, m00t had already transfered over. I didn't know about BCs back then, so I had no idea. Sorry :/

Not blaming anyone, it was just one of those unfortunate slips, he was one of the earliest server transfers before the BG checks became a staple. The best the councils back in the day did was to search all his posts on KI and read his LJ over a few times (but of course there was nothing incriminating found on either). And like said, for the first year nobody had any reason to even suspect he might not be all that we saw. I just hope no other LS gets fooled again.

To be fair, the only incriminating things that happened on Carbuncle weren't really that major. I leeched a free D.abj head from sky RMT back when everyone did it, so much for an rmt-related past. Then sold a few items off an account someone gave to me until he got the drive to play ffxi again, which was never afaik. That and a few quarrels over stupid shit with ls members. Like, nothing that would set me apart from current Chroma members, heh

Why am I posting here? Fuck knows. I don't play anymore, but it's saddening to see the same old people shittalking my prized darling fucking renaissance of an account like they know what's going on. Now probably being played by some saudi oil princes son for all I know.
