HALP 360 HDD dying

so my OG 20 gig drive is finally biting the dust (i think), i got E 79 error this morning when loading up the last remnant and now i don't get the error but the game/system just crashes after a few minutes in

i did some forum diggs on this error and found that most of the time it is just due to audio/video cables being loose or something but i checked all my cables and all seems to be ok

what im wondering is if i get the 120gig hdd with the transfer kit will it even work with a semi fubar'd HDD

any input would be greatly appreciated

I think E79 is Graphical card error, I i think got that from Ghost recon 2, So don't worry, even if it is your harddrive just stop using it until you buy a new drive, so that even if he does go out at one point, you know you can just use the drive one last time to move the data

getting E 71 now which is also 3 red lights (top right quadrant NOT lit)

going to call support and see if mine is still warrantied which i doubt very much.

You could actually check your warranty status/cost of repair on Xbox.com. Just log in, hover over "Support" > "Check Repair Status" > "Repair your console". My Xbox's warranty expired but I was able to get it fixed for free since it did brick due to the RROD.

Don't argue with free. If MS is going to fix it for free, better let them do it for free.
