Webcam

My new laptop has a built in webcam and after installing the driver from the drivers disk that came w/ my computer and trying to open the cam program, it says that i don't have a cam plugged in. Did I miss something?

See if MS Updates has any updated drivers.

some laptops mine included have a fn button that turns the camera on and off, see if there is one and try pushing it(mine isnt even marked for some odd reason), also check the device manager and see if it is there

kind of a side question, my built in webcam on my laptop stopped working after i updated to windows 7. I've downloaded drivers and searched the internet for answers. Only option i've had is to use a driver that allows me to use my ps3 eye as a webcam. While this works, its looks a shit. If anyone has any answers, much appreciated.

It's likely that no driver exists for your built-in cam, so you're kind of out of luck. I assume you've tried to load the Vista driver off the manufacturer's website? If so, you may just have to live with the PS3 cam until they make drivers for Win7 (if ever).
