(Carbuncle -> Asura) Soleste

Soleste, New application to my LS on asura. Says he had the same name on Carbuncle as he does now. Says he left Carbuncle due to feeling "passed over". Any info apperciated.

He is indeed from Carbuncle, spent the last few years in a shell named VFSvII. All my dealings with him (years ago, so take this with a grain of salt) did not leave a favorable impression, but he did seem to know his stuff and (to the best of my knowledge) not involved in drama.

Didn't really give me the impression that he'd still be playing this long. It's been a long time, but from what I remember he had a pretty bad attitude, but it's not like that's uncommon.

(Oh, hey, does anyone remember that one time someone stole someone's kraken club? I remember it had something to do with Yuufuu, and I think maybe Masenko (And soleste was friends w/ masenko, may have been involved) but it's been so long I really don't remember)

If you are thinking about the Ant KC thing, then I don't *think* that had anything to do with Soleste. Could be wrong, but I don't believe he was in on that (mind you, if this is the incident you are talking about, it was before my time in endgame, so...)

And, from the last I knew, it was the same guy playing Soleste (again, though, I have not spoken with him since he left Frenzy years ago, but from what I saw last, he still seemed to be close with Masenko...) Can't give any more info than this, people from VFSvII would know more I think.

There was some incident with a stolen kclub, and a GM finding out who stole it and returning it to I think it was Yuufuu, again, memory is fuzzy, and this may be unrelated.

Possibly the most hateful person I have ever met - irl or in game. Manipulative, underhanded, will use people to get what he wants. Left our LS when he didn't get a leadership position, and it was a relief to the whole LS/Server to have him gone. Would throw fits about not getting to lot items and always forced his input upon the leadership. Harassed all the women of the LS on a fairly consistent basis. Not a terrible player, but he is very unbalanced so if someone says something to him, even as a joke, he will get pissed and hold a grudge for a LONG time. When he left, he stole an mkris and some gil from people he had recently 'borrowed' from. Also, if he tells you how to play your job one way, and you do it differently, get ready to be verbally abused (or via text, if you are not on vent).

Be VERY VERY careful with him. He's like a bottle of nitro that will go off at any second and he WILL cause drama, try to play people through tells and make sides within the LS.. you are either agreeing with him or he hates you, plain and simple.

Believe me or don't, but this guy is a huge HUGE douche and NO LS EVER should take him. He would have been removed long long ago, but we didn't want to deal with all the further BS with him still being on Carby and knowing several members irl (which, incidentally, are also glad to have him gone).

There was one thing involving Blitzy and a few other people. My recollection was 3 ppl trioed LoO (Namuri, Sefirot, ???) and got the drop. The club was lent to Blitzy who then failed to return it. Around this time Blitzy didn't log on very much and shortly after this he left the LS.

As far as Masenko's KC, I don't know anything about it. I always assumed he bought it with the bank money he stole from Frenzy.

There were a few KClub incidences that sick out in my mind from Perfection. I remember the Ant KClub, and it seems like there was a Kirza KClub issue as well, wherein Kirza and one or more other members left with a LS KClub or something to that effect. Both issues were a little before my time in Perfection.

On Soleste...

Alot of what Hopefulki said is correct. He has always been very opinionated, outspokenly to the point of verbal abuse, and was indeed manipulative. He has alot of good gear and useful jobs, but he isn't all that skilled when it comes to playing those jobs or the strategy of the game itself. His attitude towards others prevented him from assuming a leadership role in our Linkshell, Vanafellowship, and he felt slighted because in his mind he had earned it.

At this point in time, myself and another leader of the Linkshell put together a list of no less than 12 LS members that would outright leave the Linkshell if Soleste were placed into a leadership role. Many of these people were people that Soleste probably to this day thinks loved him to death. I feel sorry for him in the regard that he doesn't and probably will never know exactly how many people in this Linkshell and maybe even the server hated him.

In his exit conversation with the leadership of our Linkshell, he went from "I'm not gonna throw out ultimatums" to "If you don't pick me I'm leaving" in a matter of minutes. It's also noteworthy that the person we selected to help lead instead of Soleste has been one of Sole's IRL friends for nearly two decades. If it doesn't say enough about him that he'd leave his Linkshell that he is so "devoted" to because his closest friend IRL got a leadership spot rather than him...then noting that before he left he had some rather rude things to say about the rest of our leaders might. One of the two I'd wager is one of the best players on all servers, and the other of which is loved by every single person on Carbuncle, and thats no lie.

The very same friend noted above has been 75DRK since damn near release, and had WAR for almost as long...everyone that knows this guy knows it was his only goal in the game to get an EBody. Well...at some point Soleste had passed Homam Leg to this friend and they kind of had a standing deal that his friend would pass something to him at a later date. Wouldn't you know it? Odin drops an EBody and Soleste pulls the "you owe me" card to rob his friends most prized drop for a WAR he barely uses. With friends like this...well...you get the picture.

Sorry for the wall of text...in short...avoid this person like the plague, because thats exactly what he is.

I think it's sad how people have to go out of their way to slander someone elses name. How sad it is that someone intentionally hurts another person to make themselves feel better. Is soleste a good player, yes he is.Everyone has their bad days and sometimes Soleste is very opiniated but No offense to Vanafellowship but if they hated him so much , they sure left him in linkshell for what 4-5 years? He had to of been doing something right~

I'm in no way a part of VFS or know Soleste, but I'd assuming being a douche bag isn't breaking the rules, which could explain why he was in there for so long?

He remained in the LS for as long as he did ONLY because he had RL friends in the LS. We have a policy for that kind of thing. Well over half of the LS wanted nothing to do with him but we left him in out of respect for his friends. We booted members for much less than Soleste pulled, if not for his RL ties you can trust me when I say his stay would have been short lived.

There are bad days, and then there are bad decades. No offense to you Suki, but its readily apparent that you dont have the knowledge necessary to form a real opinion of Soleste. If I had to guess, I'd say you're one of many people he's manipulated or fooled...seen it a thousand times. As for people "going out of their way", this is a background check thread..."it is working as intended". Three points if you get what I did there.

When Soleste first asked for leadership he was told about the people that did not want him as a leader and no one was added to leadership. After that he would continually log on for events late and then change the parties that had already been formed and create a lot of confusion. Later, when it was decided to add a couple leaders we tried to talk to Soleste before deciding but our discussion quickly turned into him giving us the ultimatum of "if you appoint anyone but me I'll quit." We did what was best for the LS and he server hoped because of it.

By the way, apparently Soleste got his new LS [Transmit, aka: Niloc.. the LS leader] to post this thread after he was already pearled to troll his old LS (VFS) into posting their old drama about him so he could see 'what they really think about' him. Gotta love manipulating people and abusing the cross server app threads. Good luck to his new LS, you'll remember this in a few months when you're hoping to god he quits or leaves the LS.

So basically, thread over, go about your business, he's still underhanded
