I just started watching the old episodes of The Prisoner from the 60's. It's surreal and totally unexpected for something made back then. The preview for the new mini-series doesn't look too great to me but I'll give it a shot.

Yah it's not inspired by Lost, it's a remake of the original show from the 60s.

I love shows like these so I really hope it's good. I wonder how many eps have been taped for this since that preview seems to contain quite a bit.

The original is one of the most influential shows ever and one of my favorites. It has a cult following and has been spoofed many times. Most recently on the Simpsons. Most oldschool Maiden fans i'm sure know it well.

You were able to watch all the episodes of the original series on amc.com for awhile, I think they took them down. I was able to watch every episode at work, it was honestly a really cool series. They seem to be changing around a lot of shit for the remake though, and I think it looks great tbh. I mean, it has Ian McKellen... how bad can it be?

I'm a big fan of the logo used for the village in the original series... the new one doesn't seem quite as surreal as this one was:

Yeah I know that but Lost's success has also resulted in other remakes, i.e. V. In fact its kind of funny that its gone full circle since Lost itself is in part inspired by the original Prisoner. I used to love all the Simpsons references to the show... I miss those old episodes
